I haven't popped it in for some time, though my DC is now dead, so I'll have to wait until I can either fix it myself or get a replacement...

Well according to the voting thread people with too little experience aren't really supposed to be voting anyway. So you have nothing to worry about, unless it's losing favor among the old-timers. ;)

Edit: Oh wait, i do see your point now, nm. I shud slp.

Strikers II needs to return. And add Dragon Blaze.

id pick Under Defeat over GB2, and im sure ive been playing shmups as long as you have.

not that i dont like GB2. i like it a lot. i just like UD more.

but i dont participate in the top 25 poll, so your game is safe from my vote.

i did play a few rounds of GB2 the other day though actually, to answer the topic directly.

Probably. I played Space Invaders when it was first in the arcades, but then I was pretty well out of gaming for a long time, returning only around 2000. Don't be confused by my bullying. I only pretend to be an expert in the hopes of getting one or two people to realize just how good Gunbird 2 is. It's not very easy to appreciate this game the way it is easy to enjoy Under Defeat. You have to get disciplined to get anything out of Gunbird 2, and why bother when there are so many easier-to-enoy games out there?

I'm playing it now, because of this thread.

I have the DC version but I'm playing in MAME:
- No load times
- Don't have to lift the TV (I have a second monitor that's always sideways)
- Get to use my trusty USB stick

that's the only reason i don't play it anymore (having my DC hooked up on a rotatable LCD and refusing to tate my 32" widescreen-tv)

what a shame
