Wow, that would actually be a great idea. Some kind of strategy sim game in which you are the enemy and you have to design strategically set the patterns for the hero to be able to fly through.PROMETHEUS wrote:How about we play Hibachi and the enemies try to dodge the crazy patterns we shoot for a change. REVENGE!
GREAT IDEA!
This thread is growing at an unsteady pace. This is useless remark #3 for me personally.

I'm so excited!
2D hi res for Cave, this is the moment for the first ever hi res tate game. What will it be like.
They should go for it. Add more layers of paralax, done

The main programmers apparently do though, considering IKD explained in the interview in the black label booklet that the meaning of Daioujou meant, "this is it -- the end".djvinc wrote:This was expected since last Matsuri.

So are we going to fight a zombie steam-powered bee as a manly mecha loli flying an ESP-controlled helicopter in feudal Japan?

I propose to bet on the gameplay.
Here's some ideas:
1) No controls. You fuckin' die, unworthy piece of trash!
2) DOJ on steroids. Literally, the game is as DOJ, but a huge shot of pure cocaine in the veins will be delivered via invisible syringe, and the experience will be *much* faster
3) DP sequel. Yeah, no hypers and whatnot, just short combos and 4,591,200 bullets per rank unit increase. If you look at the cute girls around everything's tripled, including cost. Programmed by Yagawa.
4) Boss-only mode. The first one is a triple Hibachi which will try to fist-fuck you once you dare to make a lucky dodge.
5) Slow-motion mode, a la Esp.Galuda II. Except that bullet patterns will be handled via biotronic algorythms from hell. At some point Daniel Dennett will comment that gameplay is tinkering, from his armchair in hyper mode.
6) Isometric mode. I can't make idiotic comments here, it would be simply too weird.
7) No bombs, just hypers, you build up the hyper meter via small icons. Yeah, something a la Garegga.
DOJ with updated graphics and sound, Different stage layout. It's been 6 years, so the fans of the series should be happy already.
Hmmm, 7 and 8 sound vaguely more sane, so my bet is on those (plus some effective tweaking here and there).

I think the series was done after DOJ. How can you improve it? I've never played DOJ, but from a lot of people Cave improved the gameplay more than DoDonPachi.P_HAT wrote:Gun...Loli...Bee...Grave
Soundtracks for basically every Cave game from 2002 onwards.Fighter17 wrote:What he did in the pass?

Do you mean to say "what did he do in the past?"

- Battle Garegga
- Armed Police Batrider
- Great Mahou Daisakusen
- Dodonpachi Daioujou
- Ketsui
- Mushihimesama 1&2
et al.
Not by a long shot.moozooh wrote:Soundtracks for basically every post-Atlus Cave game.
