2,392,030 - Ghegs - Stage 5

DAMN that was a great run! No-miss, no-bomb all the way into Stage 5 where I accidentaly rammed into one of the larger carrier craft, thinking I was on a higher plane than them, like with their smaller cousins in Stage 4. The Turrets Of Death finally finished me off.

And for the first time ever in my life, I actually raised my hands in the air and yelled in glee when I discovered I had beaten Kiken's (current) high-score.

New benchwarmer in town:

894,960 - Zach Keene - Stage 3

Haven't seen anyone mention you can get a shooting percentage display by holding TRANS + BOMB on the "Press Start to Start" screen. (But then it's on the last page of the manual so maybe I'm the only idiot who thought it worth mentioning...)

2,603,130 - Ghegs - Stage 5

Somehow pulled a 100% on Stage 4, along with the usual 100% on Stage 1. Got past the Turrets Of Death but lost a life there, and I was pretty much on unknown territory afterwards. Rapid deaths ensued.

...crap

2,828,160 - Skyline - Stage 5

No-Miss/No-Bomb until the Stage 4 Boss. ALMOST cleared the turrets on Stage 5 until I ran into one of them, a split second before attempting to bomb...

I play like crap. Lately, I have developed a habit of dying shortly before the stage 3 boss at the turrets and then trying to recover from that blow during stage 4..

Much better.

I'm on your heels, Ghegs. :D
Wow! The first time I rank higher than Kiken. Anywhere.

I got 100% on stages 1, 3 and 4 and one-lifed up to the stage 5 Turrets of Doom [TM], then died there with still a bomb in stock. People who are familiar with my playing style won't be surprised about that. (Some random mistakes made me lose two bombs in stage 3.)

For the first time, the death of the stage 5 boss was actually within my reach, but on my last life suddenly I was convinced I had found a safe spot for dodging the swirly yellow things.

Turned out I hadn't.

good score mate, almost the first one here to break 3 million, though am sure Kiken has some killer Arcade & Stage scores up his sleeve ........

See it makes you 24th on official ranking, frightening eh.
Oh and thanks for your tips in the Trizeal Strategy topic.

I make my Trizeal high scores topic debut.

Score Attack Stage 1 - 536,810 - A-1
Score Attack Stage 2 - 457,000 - A-1
Score Attack Stage 3 - No Data -

Yes, I still haven't beaten stage 3. I feel like a putz, but am having so much fun! :D

Arcade Mode - 980,690 - A-1

You all are doing great! I'm trying my best to play as effectively as possible this weekend, to get into the spirit of the trial. Official Internet ranking ends in 35 hours, if I'm not mistaken...

... mustn't rush goodness, though. I'm enjoying every second of this. 8)

-Arcade-
2,848,940 - Skyline - Stage 5

As much as I would have liked to be in the Top Ten on the Official I.R., it's not gonna happen in 24 hours. I'm not gonna burn myself out on this. In order to best the current #10 score [4,220,710 by clean_ship], it would need to be a 1CC. And I'm nowhere near that point yet.

#19 it is then, at least I tried. :/

Only a slight improvement over my last score.

2,619,840 - Herr Schatten - Stage 5

I could kick myself, because I died WITH FIVE BOMBS IN STOCK in the asteroid field, then got to the stage 5 boss on the second life, then totally screwed up there. Without that stupid mistake in stage 4 this could have been a really good run and I think it would have been possible for me to beat the boss (..well, bomb it to death rather), get the second extend and come near Skyline's score.

I don't see me improving until the end of the internet ranking, too, so I just hope I'll stay in the top 30.

That's the spirit! The official IR is fun, but if you ask me, we've already won --The game is fantastic. 8)

A superb turnout, I'd say! Especially considering that this is in the same table as those whom have had a six-month head-start. I'm... er... 47th. :)

Arcade Mode - 1,515,670 - A-3 - Stage 4

-- Finally saw the entire stage 3 boss! Stage 4 is SO cool! :D

I'm going to hit the hay now, so that I can play once more before the official ranking is over, submit some final scores, and hopefully save the pages for... erm... posterity? A little over nine hours, and counting...

Popped this back in just for the hell of it....and whoa.

-Arcade-
3,002,960 - Skyline - Stage 5

-S.A. Stage 4-
969,050 - Skyline

Didn't beat the Stage 5 Boss (went in there with no bombs and no lives remaining) and was done away with at the halfway point. I had to compose myself after clearing the turrets, my heart was going a mile a fucking minute there. Lost two lives on the Stage 4 Boss, one of which was due to my DC stick getting stuck in the "left" direction while dodging it's initial attack.

Even with that, I'm at #20 on the Official I.R. It seems that folks were saving their top scores until the last minute. H.O is still on top though.

And I'd REALLY love to see a video of how the hell XSK. got close to 5 Mil. using the XIISTAG ship.

I might give it anther try too see if I can beat that Stage 5 Boss later on, at the time of this post there is 5H 10M remaining for the Official I.R.

Edit: going to sleep. 3 mil. will have to do, congrats to H.O and the rest.

Well let's make this THE Unofficial Ranking page then...:D

First of all I want to have a "lifting" table here too! I love it for a quick play and a new high-score topic for this should be incentive enough to let me keep playing it! Would you care to incoporate such a table here, David?

Anyway here's my "official" highscore for now:

Arcade score:

1,361,920 - Super Laydock - Stage 4

Lifting score:

335,030 - Super Laydock - Lifts 34

I know...

I don't know why I feel so sad about it; It's not like I would've made even the top 30, or anything.

That month went by really fast... I mean, technically it was three weeks or so (for me), but I can't believe that the ranking is over already! I'm pleased with my progress with the game over that time, though. Little things like 1LCing stages one and two (with the fun bosses!), and finally defeating the third stage boss (last night) simply made my day.
davidholliss wrote:New Arcade score for me; (25 mins too late for ranking)
Aww! That's a good score though; Quite a leap from before, if I'm not mistaken. Congratulations! :)

I was hurrying to submit some final scores, but wasn't able to enter S.A. stage 3 or Lifting -- I wanted to write something nice in my stage 3 comment, and took too long... So, here it is, the product of 11H46M27S of fun:

Arcade Mode: 1,563,020 A-1
Score Attack Stage 1: 556,690 - A-1
Score Attack Stage 2: 462,470 - A-1
Score Attack Stage 3: 503,020 - A-3 (after end of ranking)
Lifting Game: 226,680 - 23 - A-3 (after end of ranking)

(I played stage 3 a couple of times again, and the lifting game as sort of a closer to the Internet ranking. I'll probably be back after a rest period with some more! I can't resist this game.)

Kudos to Skyline for representing in all of the scoring tables, and a special honorary mention to Super Laydock for kicking butt in Lifting.

Edit: Super Laydock beats me to the punch! I think that we should have a lifting table too!

(Wow, I was working on this post for a long while.)

Just a little bit better than my last score.

The usual story: 100% on stages 1, 3 and 4, one-lifed up to the rotating turrets, died there with three bombs in stock, died again, got to the boss and got wasted. Argh!

me again sorry, just a (bad ?) idea, would anyone be interested if I added a Stage 1 lowest score table (play in Score Attack Stage 1 on Normal and complete the stage without continuing with the lowest score possible)

Not bad. I one-lifed up to the rotating turrets than ran into one of them (with the usual 5 bombs in stock).

I'm still having problems with the stage 5 boss, but today I finally beat him and reached the final core. Needless to say that I didn't last very long there.
