You'd be lucky. This is summer time in London we're talking about. Tourist central.

Yeah but give it a try ;)
And anyway, 2 nights at the Barry are not that expensive!

Ok I found a place and a train for really cheap so I'll be there from the 9th to the 14th of august approximately (confirming soon). Also I'll probably have one or two friends coming along, maybe they'll come and take part in the shmup activities as well if you don't mind (although they're not shmuppers) ^_^

Anyway, do you guys plan on doing some stuff together not shmup related ? I've never been to a shmupmeet before so I don't really know what to expect. Tell me how it usually happens ? ^.^

Just check the London Meet IV photos, that'll give you an idea.
The tourist stuff is recommended, There's a lot to see in London.
It usually goes; arcade - food - another arcade - food/drink - check out import game shop - tourist stuff - back to arcade etc...

Edit:- ^If Italians are involved, add about 3 more 'foods' into the mix.

One of the members here "TC" is around 60. He stopped posting a little while ago, but he's proof that age doesn't matter.
Plasmo's also around your age PROMETHEUS
masamune is about 20 too.
---------------------------

Has any UK attendee got a Raiden DX board?
I'd like to re-install one in Casino Arcade. Its time for Mills to challenge exchanger's new record.

nice! I think it's really great to have people with different ages, it shows how people can get together around something interesting such as video games regardless of age difference.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it this time. I'd have loved to see you guys again, but I have to be somewhere else at that particular weekend. One week earlier or later would have suited me better. :? Well, you can't have it all, I guess. I really do hope that this won't be the last London meet.

I just checked the London Meet 4 thread.... and it made me feel envy... ooh how I wished I lived in Europe so I could meet with you guys. It seems to be a lot of fun.

Though you guys would probably have some fun with my english :)

I should try to organize a Rio de Janeiro Meet someday, :)

Bad news Herr! This meet will probably be a small one, but it's going to be great as usual. And definitely not the last one :D

Now, to us, that would Truly be Exotic!

Mister Schatten - Don't worry, see you next time :D

As for the size of this next Meet....who knows :?:
Unlikely to be as large as 32 attendees, but...

I was at the Casino Arcade 2 weeks ago... They had a Progear with washed
out colours, a DoDonPachi with bad alignment, Ketsui looked like it was
broken, buttons and joysticks were iffy on the DoDonPachi.

Let's put it gently, I was not that impressed...

I agree on the button and sticks situation, but I don't really care about monitors issues. If what they have is only old cabs, that's ok, but the sticks can be changed easily. Talking about that, I'll bring with me a little present for the arcade this summer :)

And anyway: Casino is the best arcade in Europe... By far!

rtw - You actually visited the arcade at the very worst time :? . Ketsui's A button is due to be replaced. Progear's controls haven't been sorted yet (as no-one plays it, other than at Meets). Dodonpachi's controls->same situation. Mush has been removed by the management.

The focus is currently on the 1 on 1 Fighting titles. The majority of players are fighter players and I haven't been around recently to update the shooters. The Fighter players are very fighter-centric, apart from the odd game of Giga Wing  . Plus there are only 3 decent vert screen cabs left amongst the plethora of fighter Horis. I haven't got too much to work with.

Nevertheless, the arcade will be ready by August.
We may install Futari for the Meet and 2 other titles.

Thanks for letting me know. Based on the comments in this thread
I was expecting a little more than what I experienced.

Next time then...

I know I know :? . The shooter situation in the arcade at this precise moment is shocking.

I'll bring it back up to speed.

Woah, that would be SO cool to be able to play Futari !!
Sad about Mushi, but I'd be almost 100% comforted by Futari.
What could be the other 2 titles ?

Futari would be courtesy of Premium Namakoteam Member Mulletgeezer. If he agrees.

Other titles will depend on what we've got in our private collections. I'd like to have Pink Sweets installed, but still not sure if any UK players have it?

The former mush cab has been removed.

mush was taken out of it but still rests safely in the office in casino (last time i checked)

i expressed my outrage towards the removal of one of the few decent verts in the arcade, while it was being removed on sunday, but i was ignored...

i wanna play Galuda 2....
