Homura (new thread)
Gorecki - 481,495,000 - Stage 4 - EEE - 43
My highest score yet, but this was actually a very poor run for me. Didn't get the first extend until well into the first boss. Survived past the level 4 midboss (nasty!) and got caught in a huge downpour of evil looking spam.
I'm only playing about 1 credit of this per month, so I reckon with a little more dedication I could easily double my score.

Don't worry Gorecki, once you get the hang of it the Stage 4 miniboss is cake... his toughest attack might very well be the first (they're all pretty simple) I remember it was only a week or so ago that I thought he was difficult!!
Edit: Bah, I meant stage 3. Stage 4 is easy too... except for that blue bullet attack...

Actually the same thing happens to me every no miss run I do - my high scores tend to be runs where I died in stage 2 or 3 (by running into the lone bullet on screen
)! I guess my nerves get to me or something in a no miss run on 4st... because if I could just keep my lives, I could maaaaybe beat the boss. Or at least improve my score... 1.35bn is definetly within reach.
Bah, don't tell me that stuff about not being able to improve your score for a while. Knowing you you'll get a 1.5bn soon, haha.

Beware!
I got a new high score last night, despite stupidly dying twice in level 2. Very avoidable deaths, so I'm hoping tonight I can get a good no miss run up to level 4 and post an even better score. Level 3 is a problem only in score; I have trouble getting a high multiplier post mid-boss on the easy route. I might have to check out the hard route.
Level 4 is insane though. So many scoring oppurtunities. I love how a huge spread of bullets can either seem like mana from heaven or hellish death, depending on if you have the slash attack available or not.
This game is fast becoming one of my favourites.

Tearfully updated table as my score has dropped 2 places.

I've beaten the first form! I suspect that with a practice mode, he'd be quite easy
I need to save bombs on stage 4 - but this means more seven barrier attacks, lower multiplier and lower score.
BTW, has anyone ever managed a 100% at the end of stage bonus? I'm sure I'm getting everything on stage one, but it never goes over 95%?!?

I finally decided to knuckle down and try to score good at something and in order to do that I needed to play a game that I had a console version of because I have a little more intrinsic motivation that way for some reason.
Is there a way to get your max combo count other then remembering? The table doesn't seem to record it.
What are your average scores after stage 1? At the end of stage screen I normally have in the ballpark of 285mil.

Great! I'm not quite as far behind in the first stage scoring as I thought. I normally have ~50 combo at the junction between paths and just sort of ride that until almost the boss where the popcorn enemies come down in that sorta triangle formation and I use the slash attack on them to refill the counter for the boss. I suppose where I'm lagging behind is in the bullet reflecting.

Everyone's scores are updated.
You may be missing some small enemies or, like Carmen said, it may be dependent on path. Try tapping slash as you're comboing enemies, if you don't do this already. It moves you quickly through the combo and doesn't affect your multiplier. You'll come out of it faster so you'll be able to charge the slash quicker and less enemies will escape when you're comboing. I posted it in the strategy thread but I don't think anyone bothers to look at that.BTW, has anyone ever managed a 100% at the end of stage bonus?
