dragon blaze is the one of two psikyo verts (if you count gunbarich) with any semblance of a deep scoring mechanic

Maybe I said something misleading somewhere (dunno?)Icarus wrote:Cyvern may be excluded from the Hidden Week shortlist, but Space Bomber allowed in this one?
What the heck? >_<'
But I think I didn't state that games from Ramus' shmeets are excluded for this tournament. I have thought about if we "should" exclude them. But when I looked back at the shmeet threads I noticed only a couple of players joined the shmeets and half of those aren't in this tournament at all. So if a game gets picked which was prior in the shmeets maybe 5-8 players have played it in a competition before. And considering we have 90+ participants I thought it would be fair to give them the chance to vote for these games regardless of their appearance at the shmeets.
Despite the fact that I absolutely HATED Space Bomber and pray it won't get picked offcourse.
PS: Dimahoo was on Raizing Week's poll and was also played at the Shmeets.
I don't have access to MLF, so I fully rely on your judgement. Trying on a higher difficulty setting might work. You might give it a couple of tries. On the other hand I dunno how many people here would use MLF? So we might also stay on the safe side and exclude this version... ?DJ Incompetent wrote: The case for using MLF doesn't look too good. Want me to investigate, Edge or is that just too much for the case against it?

Well, one would assume that Marion would be banned since she's only in the Saturn version (same thing would apply to using Morrigan in GB2 since she's only in the DC rev). Although, I assume Ayne is acceptable?Nemo wrote:I think for both Sengoku Blaede and Strikers 1999 it should be established now the hidden characters (Marion and X-36, due to them making their respective games too easy) are disallowed so it doesn't mislead anyone on voting.

I disagree. I think rank is the harshest and the 6th boss is the hardest 1st round Psikyo boss. I'd rather face Geobite and the other one AT THE SAME TIME.landshark wrote:It's definitely the hardest of all Psikyo games, easily topping Gunbird 2.
Sounds good.So Rob, I ran into interesting stuff on the Dragon Blaze info. I think come mid-sunday if my team or your team hasn't coordinated on anything, we should go in personally on Dragon Blaze. A rivalry if you will
You know, for as much as it's been said that I'm good at Psikyo games (like 3 times), I haven't played any of these games much longer than a week.

*THIS IS NOT A VOTE* Gunbird 1? *THIS IS NOT A VOTE*
I am NOT VOTING YET, DON'T CONSIDER THIS A VOTE.
Remember the other week when cigs said some shit like "I'm voting for the only good game in the group" I figured out what he was talkin' about and still gave him the vote.
If that new clause in the vote rules is throwin' you off, I'm referring to when Ganson and Laydock were debating how on Ganson can still use his vote when he was changing it. While Laydock was in the right, he was editing his posts though. To which he said in a later unedited post that he did indeed not vote. You only need to claim you didn't vote yet if you put yourself in that same situation where you edited an earlier post in the thread for whatever reason. That's the only time somebody else needs to back you up on your claim.
If you just don't edit or remove a post here, you can post normally and I'll figure out your voting intent.
Any questions, let me know.
Hey and CIT, thanks for the heads up. I added your info to the games list. That game was a pain in the ass to find anything about. So was Space Bomber

Jeez prof!?professor ganson wrote:A brief explanation of my vote for Dragon Blaze: IT'S THE BEST GAME CREATED BY MANKIND (since chess)

I must really miss something, but whatever it will be, please don't let it be Dragon Blaze this week.
25 minutes of trying it were more than enough to put me off.
Gunbird on the other hand is quite cool. It doesn't make up for the lack off Gunbird 2 here though.
I'll think about this a little longer.

Huh? You do realize I was talking about Dragon Blaze right? Dragon Blaze is the hardest of all Psikyo shmups.Rob wrote:I disagree. Could be, though I find Gunbird 2 more frutstrating. And it took me a lot longer to get to 1-5 in Gunbird 2 than in Dragon Blaze.landshark wrote:Huh? EDIT: Gunbird 2 has more cheap deaths.

Yep, I realized that it might look confusing after posting. Geobite was just used as another infamous Psikyo boss (and not specifically implying Strikers 99. I think DB and Strikers are about equal difficulty).landshark wrote: Huh? You do realize I was talking about Dragon Blaze right? Dragon Blaze is the hardest of all Psikyo shmups.
I disagree! GB2 is hardest.

Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Yeah, GB2 should have made the poll.Strider77 wrote:FoolishnessI must really miss something, but whatever it will be, please don't let it be Dragon Blaze this week.

I disagree! GB2 is hardest.
I've seen 1-7 3 times in DB.
I *hate* gunbird 1. Boring boring boring. And MLF cannot be allowed. Has a nasty 1-4 boss glitch that results in the boss standing still and not firing. Not to mention its alot easier.

And kind of awesome.Rob wrote:GB2 strips my lives away pretty well in the first round. If I make it to 2-1, I have no hope. I've been to 2-1 30-40 times and 2-2... 0 times. Kind of pathetic.
Nice one, Super Laydock. But, really, if you like Gunbird 2, I expect it's only a matter of time before you take a liking to Dragon Blaze. Try Ian. His dragonshot and movement are so fluid-- I don't think I've ever experienced more amazing control. And for Psikyo I tend to prefer the heavy-hitters like Valpairo and Tetsu.
