A little late with announcing the new prize (holiday to blame), but here it is.
A new random number has been drawn and the player ending on the rank position corresponding with the drawn number will win this prize!
A used, but mint and complete copy of Taito best version R-Type Final (NTSC JP)!*

Once again I'd like to wish everone well in the competition and who knows maybe this time YOU are the lucky winner!?
* picture taken from ebay auction, due to still not having a decent working camera. Except for the seal and sticker the game to be won is exactly the same

Who says mascots aren't in there for the prizes!?
This weeks winner, by claiming the (randomly selected) 40th place, is the one and only official mascot of the tournament: BulletMagnet!
BM, you are the, soon the be, new owner of a japanese (Taito the best) copy of R-Type Final!

Obviously only a suggestion. But ya know, if he doesn't claim it you should give it to the guy who got the lowest points but also played all 6 weeks.
That symbolizes commitment right there. That's worth honoring 10-fold..

Will do. Seriously. I have no idea when to expect a response from Guts or the other players who were obviously not so on top of things in getting their scores submitted. I'll give it a week, so I can get it out before people forget what the STGT was.BulletMagnet wrote:If no one else wants it send it on to me, Rob.

You've been around awhile. One last question in-relating to this thread. Superplays. Playing at the level you do, would you only still seek or download them for mostly research purposes? Or would you seek them for the sake of personal entertainment on-occasion? Basically, do you still watch a superplay in-full or most of it just for the hell of it?

I watched the first few levels of the Guwange counterstop to confirm that I should try to milk the 3rd boss. I didn't like having to do that and I very rarely download replays for entertainment (the ones I've enjoyed are games I wouldn't play for score, but are expertly designed, like Ikaruga and Dodonpachi DOJ). I think most games are boring to watch regardless of how good the play is.
I'll have the game sent early this week, Guts!
