I love it in Garegga

but I voted for "depends on the game"

I haven't played Garegga extensively, but I think I've only gotten one extend... lives are pretty valuable to me, the game kills me pretty quickly without me suiciding..

Raiden II might be a good example of a game without rank. I was playing tonight and I don't think it has any. Some old games just get harder from level to level, but I'm not sure if that counts as rank or not.

Try playing through any Raiden not powering to 5, and try powering to and past 5.

You'll notice a difference in the enemy bullet speed.

maybe you need to suicide to slow down rank

I'm not saying it's the easiest game (I have yet to get to stage 5 on 1cc)
