If you want to watch a pocket monster style battlin' anime I'd suggest Medabots instead. Excellent writing that's enjoyable for all ages and does not take itself seriously in the slightest. IIRC, the actual battle scenes were really well animated too. Also has one of the best English dubs out there. However, if you're more curious to see how the storyline of the BN games plays out animated instead then go for it I suppose.

Keeping this post more MM related, how do you think the 1st game compares with the rest of the series? I find a lot of people tend to rag on it unfairly given how experimental it was at the time. Same goes for the 4th.

Nah, not yet. Got IV, but V is hard to come by and now days likely costs a mint :(
