1.07a is current. What options do you have when you click the HDMI Output option?

Random question for the crew: How does the Framemeister cope with Raiden II / DX PCBs? I'm getting an XRGB2+ but I still think that one is going to be a problem for the time being.

it does not yet. On the XRGB2+ you need a monitor capable of 31khz at 54Hz, otherwise they won't work either. The XRGB-3 did pass through the 54Hz in B1 mode and converted to 60Hz in B0 mode.

Interesting. Must be tearing heck on the B0 mode though.

No, why should it ? It doesn't in either mode. B0 does a framerate conversion based on full frames. B1 shows whatever your monitor makes of the 54Hz.

I've pretty much thought out while working today and seeing as I'm not gonna be able to put my older consoles through the extron my setup looks like this:

PS2/DC > Sync Strike > Extron > VGA switch > mini din

N64/SNES/ETC > VGA switch

Assuming I'm right and that this is the only way my only legitimate questions are:
How do output VGA from the Extron?
How do I take SCART and magically make it VGA?
Does having a SCART to mini din converter (I got it early) help me in any way?

How do output VGA from the Extron?
Standard BNC to VGA adapter or cable. Available in all configurations on ebay.

female scart to HD15 is hard to find. Get it custom-made for you.

it lets you play your RGB systems if you get your Mini but don't have the other stuff around yet. You won't use it on your final setup.

Like this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/VGA-15Pin-Male- ... 2a2706b3a2

As far as the custom stuff goes, I have no idea who'd be able to make this stuff. The VGA box, I sort of have a plan but this cable? Is there a schematic I should show this hypothetical modder I need to find?

No, either an adapter like this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Atlona-6in-VGA- ... 2c660f5a7a

or a cable like this:

there are people here on the board who offer custom cables, just ask them for the stuff you need.

Frame addition/dropping, or merged frames?

B0: added frames. Doesn't look much different from the 54/60Hz conversion in RFA on the 360.
B1: will only work if your monitor accepts native 54Hz.

Cable is much cheaper. Why would anyone go converter?

Modded Dreamcast VGA box

female scart to HD15

Know anyone good on the forum? Doesn't seem to be a specific section for it.

to use your existing VGA/VGA cables.

go into the trading section, look for someone to sale custom cables, send him a PM with your requests.

I haven't seen this one in action, but I'll give it a look. Sounds promising. I probably should've skipped the XRGB2+ and gone with an XRGB3, from the sound of it...it's only one board that I need it for (since RF games play fine on my VGA monitor, but not R-II and presumably not R-DX, oddly enough), although then I'd be accepting 2 frames of lag from the full processing.

Can somebody explain to me what the Sync Strike actually does?

I have a PAL NES, NTSC SNES, PAL SNES, PAL MEGA DRIVE, PAL N64, PAL PS1, in my currrent setup. These are the consoles I play the most. Without having to switch back and forth between settings in the framemeister, what would you guys think is the ultimate setting to be able to play all this consoles without changing settings everytime?

Sounds great, converter is actually cheaper when I factor in shipping so one end in the Extron and one end in the VGA switch. Awesome.

I've got a question about the volume on the mini. Is there a reason that lowering the audio level from the menu to 0 doesn't mute the sound completely? Currently have a PS1 connected with RGB, but I believe it was like this for other systems and inputs as well.

it cleans up the sync signal, which is part of the RGB signal. If you don't have any problems, you don't need one.

with PAL sources you have to switch around between 50 and 60Hz everytime. For low-res RGB in general is shouldn't be too hard to find a setting which works on all sources. What are the settings you're changing all the time right now ?

It happens with all sources I have tried too. Pretty stupid.

Maybe a mute button should be added if another list is sent to micomsoft, or least fix the volume level. I know with some inputs you can just unplug the audio, but that's not really possible with rgb.

Why not just mute your TV?

the Mini has a mute button. Second from the left on the row with the safety button, brightness and gamma.

Monitor actually, it doesn't have a remote so it's not as convenient as I'd like.

I've tried it, it 'mutes' the video as well (black screen). Maybe that's not intended?

If it was intended, that would be the dumbest function ever.

I thought so too, it's why I wondered if I wasn't doing something wrong. I had never heard of such a thing.

I just joined the Framemeister club! It's en route to my house as we speak. Now onto the RGB cables...

I see on retro_console_accessories on eBay all the cables I need. But I have some questions.

1. Does anyone know if these are PAL SCART cables? If so, I'll need a special PAL SCART connector for the Framemeister, right?

2. I see an option for the "boosted sync" cables for Genesis and 32X. Is this cable appropriate for the Framemeister? Of course I'll take better picture quality, if that's what it does...

3. I'll be running a Genesis 1/Sega CD. I'd like the option to run my 32X, but I don't want to be married to using it for the output. Do I even need a dedicated 32X SCART cable? Won't the Genesis 1 SCART cable output picture for both anyway?

4. I don't need the SCART cables with RCA audio out for Framemeister, right? I think the HDMI will output sound anyway?

Thanks everyone :)

I'm sure it is listed somewhere in this huge thread but,

I'm looking for hints on how to set up the mini for the best Wii playback. What settings, etc. I've fooled around with it over the last year but never been able to get it to look great. Any ideas on what the perfect Wii settings should be?
