Clutch - Strange Cousins From the West
I also uploaded my old bands discography if anyone is interested. It was a parody death metal/grind band.

Re: current favorite albums
*sanodg- Mainline Voyage (a 4-track techno/trance single with several different mixes)
*Shinji Hosoe & Ayako Saso - Tetris TGM 3 Terror Instinct/TGM-Ace
TGM3's Shirase 1000-1300 BGM rocks.
*Yuzo Koshiro - Streets of Rage
*Tamayo Kawamoto etc. - Thunder Force VI
Stage 3A's "Everblue" is one track I can't get enough of.
*Takeshi Miura (in-game BGM) - Razing Storm soundtrack
Great techno-rock soundtrack that goes well with slaughtering damn near anything that moves and wrecking anything that doesn't. Guest appearance by Five Finger Death Punch, with "Ashes" for the slick attract mode/intro and "The Bleeding" for end credits.
Matt Bianco - World Go Round, Matt's Mood
Basia- It's That Girl Again
Taylor Swift- Fearless
Ashley Tisdale- Guilty Pleasure

Ulaan Khol I & II (Steven R. Smith) (both on Soft Abuse)
Smith's always gleened a bit from Roy Montgomery, and here it comes out in huge, distorted epic form. Really beautiful instrumental guitar-scape without being boring drone. Primal and majestic.

I was lucky to find a mint copy on vinyl with the huge fold out lyric sheet. One of my prize items.CMoon wrote:Just discovered this one yesterday. The history of this album is pretty interesting as is trying to second guess why it hasn't seen a CD reissue. Fortunately it isn't hard to hear the album if you know where to look--now owning the album, that's another matter. Obviously fans of Tonight's the Night and On the Beach (yes, Zuma too) need to check this lost album out. Did any of this end up on the Archive box?sjewkestheloon wrote: Neil Young - Time Fades Away
The album is one of my favourites, and Last Dance is probably one of his best tracks if only for Crosby trying to turn it into a singalong at the end.
It hasn't been reissued on CD as NY has said that it is his worst album and that he hates thinking about it and the time that he recorded it. I find it shocking that On The Beach was only reissued relatively recently, another top ten of all time albums.

Re: current favorite albums
Given that Neil Young has put out his fair share of crap, there is some irony surrounding how he seems to hate his very best albums.

Re: current favorite albums
Time Fades Away was recorded shortly after Danny Whitten died, so maybe it's just a personally painful album for Young to go back to.

Re: current favorite albums
after initially struggling with it and after constant play, i'm pretty much a massive fan of The Decemberists Hazards of Love.
Final track is stunning, pretty much a rock opera album too. Kick ass.
The new Mew album is fantastic too - but the title is tooooo long !
other than that, the 80Kidz - This is my shit, is a little up and down but has what feels like a SHMUPS sound track.

really good stuff.....although a major departure from everything else he has done.....hes kinda gone emo and stopped doing drugs....took several listens to get into it cuz it was so different.....but im really liking it now...think hip hop with a kinda artsy 80's punk feel to alot of the beats and even his flow on some tracks....kinda hard to describe
well worth tracking down....although it seems i am well in the minority with the hip hop...you guys are all metal hedz

Re: current favorite albums
I like it all man... I grew up in NY going to fat beats and picking up the latest mix tapes of local groups.
Not sure if you have heard them or not, but check these 2 dudes out.. amazing shit right here....
Siah and Yeshue da po'ed
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_q ... =siah+and+
not sure what they've been up to in recent years... but they released a 12 inch back in the day called "A day like any other"... one long song that mixed in samples of the ocean waves, forest sounds and all kinds of amazing stuff to tell the story.

I got the biggest cast of musical blue balls the other night. I went to see Ocean and Bloody Panda in Boston and was excited to hear Ocean play the Beacon with Yoshiko, only to have the last 5 or so minutes of the song cut off because the club doesn't let bands play past 12. They essentially played for a half hour building to a climax tthat never came. It'd be one thing if they just didn't get the chance to play a song or two, but when I band only plays 2 songs in a set, to me that is inexcusable. I don't think I'll be going back to that club, especially not for any doom shows.

I saw Joanna Newsom at a festival a few years back (I am a huge fan and was captivated throughout) and she ran past curfew and didn't seem anywhere near ending her set. Some people ran on stage and debated with her until she managed to convince them that she was only going to play one more song. Little did they know that she was going to launch into the 20 min long Only Skin, something that will stay with me for a long time. One of my dreams is to have her music played to me live without any noise or interference whatsoever in an acoustically perfect environment.
On a doom note, the same would be true of a Sunn0))) performance. Just for me. Maybe in a catherdral.
I've recently learned to play my MP3 player through my 360 so have been listening to a great variety of tracks on shuffle. Highlights from today include:
Sleep - Jerusalem
Bang on a Can (Terry Riley) - In C
of Montreal - various tracks from Cherry Peel up to Skeletal Lamping
some choice cuts from Miles' first quintet, some great Coltrane (especially Impressions from the Pablo European Tours set) and even a section of The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady, one of my favourite albums of all time.
In the old fashioned way I also picked out Can's 2cd best of edits and Yo La Tengo's I'm Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your Ass. A good musical day.

Been enjoying Bad Religion's Generator. It's my favorite album from them, much better than Suffer IMHO.
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.
