After trying out the new MAME releases I've returned to Futari - black label this time around. And what do you know... I got to level 5 for the first time ever - past the mid boss even. And adding 150M to my hiscore in the process... 272M now. What a day!

Yeah, after having a blast with crimzon clover for two or three days, I went back to my "maingame" Mushi Futari Black Label.

After two tries in scoreattack, as I died in the first stage... I played again.

Reached Stage 5, just before entering the "castle" I died after missing the 1up.

Pushed my personal hiscore in BL original from 118 millions to 311 millions. Stage 4 was a fucking blast, I just saw gold, and then some more gold. Stage 5 (reached for the first time on 1cc, seldomly played...) was quite, ähm, hectic.

I. Love. This. Game. :awe:

Crimzon Clover Unlimited. Pulled off some hitbox shenanigans, proceeded to make 1000oku. Only problem was the 4 deaths on Stage 2 boss. Got to fix that.

Probably going to go crazy this week when Zero Gunner 2 and Bangai-O are likely to come in the mail while I do homework and try to complete consume all available Dead Space content before Dead Space 2 hits on Monday. That's not too shmup-related though, is it?

Nope... Not sure about the exact numbers, but I think WR is about 300 mio. more...

Please correct me if I am too inprecise, Prometheus.

Edit: IIRC, Prometheus has something of about 570 mio... The world record is, according to wikipedia, around 748 millions...

Futari BL Original and Mars Matrix.

Had a really good run in Futari last night, but I died (stupidly) at the pill bug section. Following that I panic bombed once prior to the boss, lost two lives at the boss and wasted a bomb. Managed to make it to the first moth on stage 4 then I trapped myself and lost my last life. Still bumped my high score up to 250 million, up from my previous best of 230 million.

Zero Gunner 2 just came in the mail. Have been playing that and have learned to enjoy using Hokum. Played some Mars Matrix last night, too, but that game keeps kicking my ass all over the place.

I hope I can keep the Dreamcast love flowing as it's the most fun I've had with video games in years.

Still soldiering on with Futari BL original. Reached level 5 boss for the first time ever and got wiped with just over 300M - enough to enter the top 200 on the leaderboard. This game is sooo awesome

Mystic Square, died really stupidly [bombed after getting hit with lasers instead of before, like a total nub, I knew they were coming].
Also, this is probably the best FM music I've heard ever, the instruments don't sound like crappy attempts at putting DX-7 patches in.

I'm all up in that Espgaluda 2 for XBOX 360. Still trying to figure out Black Label mode. I don't get what I'm supposed to do when I activate the Kakusei Overmode in Black Label.

Still trying to get a run in where I actually fully chain stages 1 through 4 in DDPDFK 1.5. Was using B-type power but changing it up and trying the C-type power ship, and feels a little easier as its normal shot move speed isn't all over the place like B-type is.

Crimzon Clover v1.00 (PC, looking for around 4500oku or more in Original Mode), and Dodonpachi Daifukkatsu ver1.5 (X360 and iOS, working on my full-chain route with C-Power).
Occasionally picking at Mushihimesama Futari ver1.5 (X360, aiming for 400mil in Original Mode).

DOJ-bl (finally got he patch, waaa-hooo!). Really pumped about delving back into this game, stage 5 is still my wall using Type-B EXY. I find that I just can't do well without a strong shot and laser, but also feeling like if I want to clear the first loop I'm going to need a lot more bombs... No idea which ship or pilot to use.

Still giving DOJ and Futari plenty of time too although I'mmout of practice and can't manage the 1CCs like I was a few weeks ago, must be stress...
