Thats what I did and have not looked back.
Same here, all systems with Japanese RGB21, no worries ever.

Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
Hi everyone.
I've read and re-read this thread a couple of times (even screengrabbed some important stuff) and I still have a question.
I got one of these beauties and so far so great. My AES, RGB modded N64 and SNES all look AMAZING through the Jap 21 connection and SCART. The issue I'm getting now is when I hook my Wii up via D-Terminal I cannot get it to output widescreen. It's being squeezed 4x3 on my monitor. I went through all the output settings and nothing seems to be working. I was wondering if anyone else has had a problem with getting their Wii to output 16x9 widescreen through the Framemeister?
I apologize if this was covered earlier, but I couldn't find any reference to this problem.
Cheers
Arn

Don't think it's been covered before
You have set the Framemeister to Wide right? It's one of the buttons right above the red or green buttons.
The only other thing I can think of is that you have the output set to 480p and your monitor forces this to 4:3. Try 720p instead

Well interestingly enough, the Wii only outputs 4:3 video, it's "16:9" mode is simply a mode designed to be stretched out by your TV.Konsolkongen wrote:Don't think it's been covered before

Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
That's true. But for that to work he needs to set his XRGB to wide and a widescreen output resolution (or if he's using 480p out, have his screen stretch it to widescreen).
Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
And when that's done (widescreen resolution I mean) you should just need to set your XRGB to "Auto" (the button right above the blue one; standard setting as far as I know). Well, you should - unfortunately this doesn't work.
Another bug that really needs to be fixed.

Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
Run my Wii through Component->D-Terminal adapter, and have no issues being able to get it in 16:9. One thing I'm not sure if you've checked: make sure your Wii itself is set to output 480p and not 480i within its system settings. I don't believe it (the Wii) supports the "fake" widescreen in 480i mode, which may or may not have anything to do with it.acampero wrote:Hi everyone.

Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
so I tested Dreamcast + Modded VGA box (15/31khz switch) + UMSA (you will need a Power Supply also) + XRGB-Mini (Scart RGB Input)
Dreamcast Menu (VGA box set to 15 Khz) : works + XRGB-Mini see 720 x 480i
Dreamcast Menu (VGA box set to 31 Khz) : works + XRGB-Mini see 720 x 480p
Street Fighter III (VGA box set to 15 Khz) : works + XRGB-Mini see 720 x 240p
100% Works !
240p test suite was not working, i wasted 4 cd
I used the same method and same media to burn Street Fighter III and it is working, maybe something is wrong with 240p test suite (240p-DC-PVR-1.13.zip).

I always burn them before uploading, this would be a first. Which method did you use?akumajo wrote: 240p test suite was not working, i wasted 4 cd

I burned another iso (street fighter 3) with same softwares and media (taiyo yudden) and it was working.

Discjuggler should have worked fine, will burn an image and let you know. Sorry to hear about that.

Also, the Kuro one is just basically this very box we've been talking about for about 5 pages? With both modes ending in one SCART cable? There's no pictures on the site.
Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
you will need everything I said if you want to use Kuro with XRGB-Mini.
15/31Khz can works with vga output BUT your display must support both signal, if no you need xrgbmini + UMSA (for scart).
Kuro is as cool as SLG-3000 when it was released

So can I get links or pictures to your whole setup? It seems like the perfect way to get my Dreamcast put into my Framemesiter.akumajo wrote:you will need everything I said if you want to use Kuro with XRGB-Mini.

nobody have a pic of the render with this setup ?
Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
I am building a VGA->DIN cable with the passive sync combiner (transistor & a few resistors)
I will let you know if it works
I have the black DC VGA BOX with the mysterious "CD-R" middle position. I hope its really for 15Khz (i read this somewhere).

Ok but what IS UMSA, does the power supply come with it?akumajo wrote:Modded VGA box (15/31khz switch) + UMSA (you will need a Power Supply also) + XRGB-Mini (Scart RGB Input)

Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
But if you mod your VGA box anyway, you can put a sync combiner right into it as well. UMSA just makes it more complicated, especially if used exclusively with a Mini.

power supply is an "option" that you must add

Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
No 15 / 31 khz mod needed on the above-referenced Kuro as it has that switching capability built in. I think that if you picked up a Kuro, you would need to either a) install the sync combiner circuit yourself / have someone do the mod or b) use something like the UMSA.Smashbro29 wrote:Keep going.Fudoh wrote:But if you mod your VGA box anyway, you can put a sync combiner right into it as well. Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
Yeah, I think so. Honestly, the UMSA is easier, at this point, as no one has worked on the Kuro (in terms of mods) that I know of. Yeah, its another cable, but....
