Hoorah, glad people are up for going. Would like to make absolutely sure it's actually open first. Casino crew on tour. Fantastic. When's everyone free to go? Guessing weekends might be the best...?

I'll be down the arcade on Tuesday, and probably Thursday, and basically any night when people are down.

Potter's Bar is beyond the M25, I am reluctant to venture into those barbarian lands with only fighting games awaiting me but I'll probably go if everyone else does, depending on when.

Potters Bar is semi posh. I remember going to a family dinner in the main Mansion there (the one with the large lake behind it). Its quite far out indeed, but I guess it makes sense for Firebug who lives in Borehamwood. No shooters there yet, but its worth talking to Firebug on his NeoEmpire forum thread to set something up.....beforehand.

Yeah potter's bar is pretty high class in some places, I went through there a few times with family and there are some serious houses there.

I'd totally be up for a day trip, would be awesome.

Looks like it would have to be a night trip - they do lock-ins at the weekend.

I had a skip through the thread and there aren't any shooters there, we'd have to bring them along and organise it well in advance. Reading how the cabs are all set up with sanwa and seimitsu parts it did make me that bit more pissed at Casino and it's shoddy, er charm.

I'll be down tuesday around 6.

I think Firebug has made setups his priority. I think there are a few bells & whistles on the cabs too so there's something for everyone (modifications for pads and the like). Good business sense, since a lot of people are fussy about playing fighting games only in their preferred way.

It's a shame fighting games is all it is, but I'd be down for some '98 as always.

Silly question: is Dodonpachi still at Casino, and if so what's the state of the cab? (P1 and P2 sides) It's been my favorite casual game of late, and I'd like to know if I should expect to see it again there :)

Only you would call DDP 'casual'! :D

It's there. The sticks are OK. OK at best though.

It's my PCB, so it can stay in as long as we want!

Casual just means "not learning any chains, or doing much practicing, and having no intention of making it to Hibachi" :P Though I'd be happy just to loop on a cab really, especially given how stiff those sticks are as I recall...

"Stiff sticks" isn't exactly the best way to put it in hindsight!

Later sweetcheeks!

And Aliquantic - the sticks are indeed of the stiff variety.

I won't be able to make it down tonight unfortunately, but I should be around next Tuesday. Also I actually quite like the sticks in the DDP cab (Suzo Universal 500?), the very short throw distance and slight stiffness make them amazing for tap dodging.

I almost made a joke about hzt the second I wrote the word stiff!

Anyway - a late one at Casino tonight, as CHI decided to 4-4 OutZone (and on a two player game where I only made it to 1-4!). Good to see you all tonight.

And I'll be in next Tuesday for sure; be good to see you JDE. It's been a while.

I haven't chimed in because I was watching CHI play Outzone for what seemed like hours and hours and hours... he had to stand up in a couple of the easier bits because his arse was starting to hurt. No jokes about stiff sticks are needed in connection with this.

And I don't even want to know why spadgy associates me with the word stiff...

He was aiming for 3-1. He got to 4-4 on the same credit he got to 3-1 for the first time!
