Me too! I wonder why the decision to just go with Raiden? A known IP, I guess.Oniros wrote:New mode and LE contents out for Caladrius Blaze: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_ ... 6954792474

Re: Raiden 4 Overkill and Caladrius getting PS3 release
My prediction is that UFO will give Caladrius Blaze a latecomer digital release in the States some time after its JP release, much like how they handled Mamoru-kun. Probably in 2015.

I wouldn't even be mad. I've got my plate full with Crimzon Clover, Raiden IV, and the Cave STG Collection.Pretas wrote:My prediction is that UFO will give Caladrius Blaze a latecomer digital release in the States some time after its JP release, much like how they handled Mamoru-kun. Yeah - I've got enough new/recent shmups to play, and Raiden Overkill is going to keep me busy for a long time.

Official Caldrius Blaze site has had an update.
The contents of the LE for this game are going to be an OST CD and a..........DRAMA CD!!!1!!1!!
Some more info about game modes is in there, including some new info about Evolution mode that I can't really make head nor tail of with Google Translate. There's also a picture of the new boss and some new characters.

Re: Raiden 4 Overkill and Caladrius getting PS3 release
So, to summarise the Caladrius stuff (please do correct me if I'm wrong!):
• Boxed release (Standard and LE). No Download version (while Raiden IV Overkill was Download only).
• Includes 'new stages and modes'. Might be safe to presume that these are the 'Original' and 'Arcade' modes seen in Caladrius AC (the arcade port/remix) of the original 360 release?
• LE includes an OST and drama CD.
• Late August 2014 release.
Anything else?
And if you're here Rancor, are you getting this one in? If so, I finally really will put an order in, as there's now a few things in your store I wanted (I can't even remember the last one I was badgering you about!).

Re: Raiden 4 Overkill and Caladrius getting PS3 release
Exclusive to Blaze there's a new stage and boss as well as the content from AC, and a new mode that's exclusive called evolution mode. A few new characters too.spadgy wrote: • Includes 'new stages and modes'. t!).
By the looks of the official page there's going to be some DLC for this release as well, probably more characters.

The new boss is a horsey.
Re: Raiden 4 Overkill and Caladrius getting PS3 release
So we're going to get a mix of new levels, modes and arranges as with Overkill. I'd like to see AC vanilla, as it was in arcades (both modes hopefully), and then I presume the new stage will be for the new Evolution arrangement. Then perhaps, aping what Overkill did, we'll get the original 360 game with the new scoring system, and perhaps the new levels in that version too.
I like the new boss art too. Tackling him should come just as I'm equine-ding down my Overkill play. Boom boom!

Re: Raiden 4 Overkill and Caladrius getting PS3 release
You guys don't realize it yet, but what you really want is AC with the Vanilla scoring system. AC scoring system's multiplier caps out way too quickly which leaves far less incentive for maximizing every millisecond of the run. Basically it's too easy to score near the score ceiling, and it becomes shallow as a result.
AC Original uses the original scoring system, however it doesn't feature any of the character balance changes from Vanilla, and the difficulty is significantly toned down from Vanilla to the point it feels like a Novice Mode.
AC did a lot of things right, but it missteped in crucial areas that ultimately make Vanilla the better, deeper, more compelling game.
As for the new mode, I'm going to have faith that it will be good. Even if there is no equivalent of AC with Vanilla scoring, as long as the new scoring system is deep and not easily maximized I will be satisfied with it.
Also for the love of god they should nerf Acid Reaction, that is such a scrub skill, and I'm afraid most people are going to immediately choose it to get the easiest possible clear, think the game is boring as a result, and never actually play it as it was meant to be played.

Seeing a DLC banner on the official homepage rubs me the wrong way.

Re: Raiden 4 Overkill and Caladrius getting PS3 release
Here's the opening movie for Blaze, if you're interested. They show the first game's DLC characters (plus one or two new faces) in the usual "cast listing" alongside the "regular" playable bunch, so I wonder if they'll be playable from the start after all...guess we won't know for sure until Moss says something though.
Re: Raiden 4 Overkill and Caladrius getting PS3 release
Guys this is a warning for CRT buyers until UFO fucking fix their shit (I tweeted politely about it though), your Raiden IV Overkill MAY not display in color at least on RGB. On my old CRT, it was black & white via rgb, the rgb>scart converter was 1mm too wide to fit into my TV
so I hooked it up to parents HDTV which I have rarely access time to, and it's fine. I'm gonna try it on an other CRT later or tomorrow, maybe it's because the one I used does not support NTSC colors past 4.4

Re: Raiden 4 Overkill and Caladrius getting PS3 release
Looks like the product page on Caladrius Blaze does mention a PSN release, the same price as the regular edition, 6,800 Yen (may include tax), so yeah, both retail and digital day 1, hope the game still sticks on the 8/28 date and hope they don't delay it.ArmoredCore wrote:Will there be a day 1 release on JPN PSN store or disc copies only

Re: Raiden 4 Overkill and Caladrius getting PS3 release
The JPN PS Store does not accept foreign credit cards or Paypal. Some have had success using them with the Hong Kong store, but your mileage may vary.
There are many resellers who will sell you JPN PSN gift cards and email you the codes. I recommend Solaris Japan.

Re: Raiden 4 Overkill and Caladrius getting PS3 release
This game (Caladrius) looks dope. Definitely going to be picking it up after reading this thread!
Re: Raiden 4 Overkill and Caladrius getting PS3 release
AmiAmi has started requesting payment for Caladrius PS3 pre-orders - all of the editions (even the regular edition) seem to be "sold out/unavailable".
Re: Raiden 4 Overkill and Caladrius getting PS3 release
Woah. I wonder if I should have gotten in on this? Was considering preordering today, and put it off. Guess I could go to my JP PSN, but I was sort of wanting a physical disc.HydrogLox wrote:AmiAmi has started requesting payment for Caladrius PS3 pre-orders - all of the editions (even the regular edition) seem to be "sold out/unavailable".
Re: Raiden 4 Overkill and Caladrius getting PS3 release
This should arrive at more door on Friday as long as it ships on time. Gonna be one hell of a weekend.
So have very many people put in orders for this? Make sure to participate on the scoreboards!

Hunting for playasia coupon codes right now to order lol, hit me up if anyone got any.
Re: Raiden 4 Overkill and Caladrius getting PS3 release
I intend to order the standard edition sometime later. I don't expect this game to sell out, so I wasn't in a rush to put in an order yet. Nonetheless, I do look forward to it. Please post your impressions once you've got the game. It seems you're quite the expert on the X360 and arcade version, so you're in an excellent position to judge the relative merits of the PS3 version.

Re: Raiden 4 Overkill and Caladrius getting PS3 release
Heads up, Caladrius Blaze is now out on the JP PSN store (http://bit.ly/1sFljDl), and also its retail release too. But just to let you know, the digital release is a bit higher than what I posted before. Its 7,344Y, a little higher than what it was supposed to be mentioned from the official C.B. site (6,800Y).

I ordered DDP:SDOJ and Shooting Love 10th Anniv, so I could get my own $5 off from P-A. After picking up Caladrius, I'm gonna be gooood on shooters for a while.ArmoredCore wrote:Hunting for playasia coupon codes right now to order lol, hit me up if anyone got any.
Really looking forward to tinkering with the weapon setups in Caladrius.
