Heh, yeah I just always wanted one. And turns out XRGB will work with the LL version. Im just dumb. You just gotta make sure your connection is solid / not dirty, thats why the cube insta rebooted before when I launched the DOL. Now it works and its great!

Cool deal.
Anyway, I still hope somebody tests this with a Freesync monitor one day (might need linedoubler and/or rgb transcoder).

I got it working today, on DVD-RWs, no less (need to get better media so I can turn the laser down). I don't seem to be able to access any of the settings or menu stuff; I only have it load up and play. I'm using the low latency iso.

Options on the low-lag versions can only be set when loading via the network or maybe Swiss. Was there anything in particular you wanted to change? You can't do any zooming or borders or anything with the low-lag versions I know.

Re: Gameboy Advance RGB NTSC
I think zoom was the only thing I was curious about. The motion looked fantastic, though I didn't try anything high speed. Some of the audio seemed lopsided, with the left channel significantly louder, but that was also with a modified rom. Overall I'm happy!

Re: Gameboy Advance RGB NTSC
Yeah, the regular version has a couple of nice adjustments, the zoom looks pretty nice because there's no filtering applied over it like I think the Gameboy Player does. But the motion interpolation looks pretty terrible imo.

Does the 0715 update add anything useful? I didn't quite understand what extrems posted, specifically if I'm using the ISO version on a disc.

The GameBoy Player detection issue may refer to games thinking they're connected to the GBP? I'll test later today.

Yeah, would love to hear back from you. My GCN is in storage at the moment, but I remember that when playing Drill Dozer, the cart would be rumbling instead of the controller, which isn't supposed to be the case in a Game Boy Player.bobrocks95 wrote:The GameBoy Player detection issue may refer to games thinking they're connected to the GBP? Re: Gameboy Advance RGB NTSC
Doesn't seem to have fixed that particular problem, at least with Mario & Luigi- it still won't let me turn on the rumble feature. I'll ask over on gc-forever, curious what it is if not that.

I emailed Datel a while back and they finally replied. The US version of the SD Media Launcher has been officially discontinued and they have no more on hand. Looks like I'm gonna have to track one down somewhere else.

That's pretty sad. Glad I got one at the last second though. Maybe somebody else will step up and start making something like it again.nesboy43 wrote:I emailed Datel a while back and they finally replied. Which is why I just chipped mine instead. It was cheaper too, but maybe not as versatile.nesboy43 wrote:I emailed Datel a while back and they finally replied. Rumble was added to the Gameboy Interface, but it appears to be in the regular version only, not the low-lag versions.

I'm having trouble with it recognizing controllers. Most of the time it won't work with a wave bird and sometimes it won't see a standard wired one. I haven't tried the GBA adapter yet, but iirc it's not supported.

Re: Gameboy Advance RGB NTSC
Which version are you using, the low lag? I'll try a wavebird myself since I haven't yet, but I haven't noticed any dropped inputs with a wired controller.

Low lag, two revisions ago. May's release, iirc. And the issue is at boot. I get to my game's screen and the controller doesn't do anything.

Only was able to do some cursory reading and I'm too excited so I just gotta know.
How's the lag on the ultra low version?
Does it work with the XRGB mini via component?
If not, which do?
Can I get 240p?
How do I load it? Link to this reader I supposedly need?

Hmm, you're using a disc so it's not that easy to update, right? Does a press of the reset button help? That just resets the GBI, not the system.Einzelherz wrote:Low lag, two revisions ago. Nearly every question you have is answered in the initial post over on gc-forever, and everything else has been covered in the thread already, so you won't get more than a sentence out of me for each one.Smashbro29 wrote:Only was able to do some cursory reading and I'm too excited so I just gotta know.

< 1 frame
Should, may not like the refresh rate
240p is the default on the low-lag versions
An Action Replay + SD Card adapter of some kind, or a chipped or otherwise modded gamecube
You'd need a USB Gecko or similar to go with that. The Action Replay may be able to boot it from a disc though.Smashbro29 wrote:LL only? Yes, fine I jumped the gun posting. I get it.
I have the disc but I'd hate to invest in AR and not have it work.

http://www.gc-forever.com/wiki/index.ph ... g_Homebrew <- Probably the most comprehensive source on booting homebrew on Gamecube. Looks like you need an SD Gecko of some kind regardless, but I don't know for sure.Smashbro29 wrote:Yes, fine I jumped the gun posting. I get it.

I am, but I haven't spent much time troubleshooting. I mentioned it here to see if it was common. I'll check with other retail discs too, since I really haven't played the GCN much since I bought it.bobrocks95 wrote:Hmm, you're using a disc so it's not that easy to update, right? Re: Gameboy Advance RGB NTSC
The US version (and probably the other regions) has been discontinued. They ran out of stock a couple months ago. Very bad timing considering these low-latency players just hit the internet.Smashbro29 wrote:Is it weird that the URL keeps changing to uk for me?BazookaBen wrote:I just ordered this: http://us.codejunkies.com/products/gcnw ... 00589.aspxbobrocks95 wrote: (make sure you get the disc for NTSC Gamecubes)

I'd actually say it's good timing for them. The new player might have cleared out what dusty inventory they had.

Re: Gameboy Advance RGB NTSC
So which options are available that aren't prohibitively expensive?
Also recently watched a video claiming ULL will play nice on the Framemeister. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=maT2M68z3vk He claims that's how he captured the video.
I wonder if we'll get fullscreen scale 16:9 ULL mode someday. That would be the best.

Re: Gameboy Advance RGB NTSC
1. The cheapest you can get is by buying a XenoGC and using a WiikeySD (or knockoff). You could also burn an Iso instead of using a key, provided you have got the modchip.
2. The ULL version works perfectly with the framemeister. I have to admit I could use some help on adjusting the sync level more stably though. Any recommendations?
3. I figured you can get up to 6x scale by setting the ZOOM_SIZE to 75. Even scanlines work at this setting (if you adjust V_WIDTH as well) and you only have to live with small boarders.
Hope this helps.
