let them hear the western appreciation.
Cave should go full tonelico style and add bathtowel/magical girl/victim pain outfits to the game and see if they could cause anyone's heads to explode, I think.

Just wait until more people have played it/its officially released. You don't NEED to know anything right now do you?
No, but obviously i WANT to know as much as possible. Its only natural!

Also what else are we going to discuss if we can't examine the scoring system/speculate, since we can't be critical of the game or mock the character designs? :|

I'm uploading it to my dropbox -- I'll give you the link in a PM.
They should be

1: Resampled (REALLY fucking loud)
2: Rotated so people smart enough to not use Quicktime don't hurt their heads
3: Recompressed since they're just straight off my phone.

Hopefully they'll be up there within an hour or so.

Agree with THE, CAVE actually did a redesign of the PCB when they made the CV1000D boards, all parts are readily available.

The current CPU is at 133Mhz they could do a drop in replacement to get it to 200MHz and the blitter lives in the FPGA which they could also easily change.

I'd be disappointed if it was SH3, because I was told when working on the driver that they'd cleared all their stock with the limited releases and the next release would be on PC-type hardware or PGM2.
I thought the PGM2 can't display transparencies? Does it? And isn't it less powerful than SH3?
I don't know, on either front. You don't really need the power of the SH3 processor if you're got a sprite / tilemap based system anyway, it's got a lot less work to do. Even with the existing SH3 games the only time the SH3 is pushed is during gfx decompression (which you don't have with dedicated chips)

IseeThings wrote: If it's PGM2 don't expect it to be emulated, ever, IGS went even more nuts with the security on that than the later gen PGM1 games which I consider impossible.
Can you elaborate about this? If necessary in private 8)
The PGM2 games take the later IGS027 technology to a new level from what I can see. We already know the last generation IGS027 chips have an 'execute only' region (which can't be read out even if you get code running on the ARM) so I'd imagine these are secured like that + better. The Motherboard contains *no* roms, and probably not even the CPU, just the gfx / sound chips. The carts contain the IGS custom (which is probably the CPU) and a bunch of roms. Even if you remove all the program roms the game will boot up to tell you that the program roms are missing, which pretty much proves the custom is an internal ROM job just like the IGS027, and they'd have no real reason to step back on the security they introduced in the previous generation.

The *last* PGM game known to be released with an unsecured IGS027 is DDP2. Everything after that is fully secured.

Anyway I'll let you get back to topic, just saying, if they really wanted security they could go with that, but IMHO what's shown there is just on the SH3 board.

Wow, So 9:16: display, eh? That's going to look even more tiny for players that don't/can't tate, haha. If this ever gets a console release I am either going to tate my 47" LCD or get an LCD in the 20 - 24" range to tate.

Gameplay looks like fun to me. Hard to gauge from a 2 min clip with people constantly walking by, but I'm excited for it. The dress system amuses me.

Its not, its still 3:4. As stated already the games being streamed from the cab onto a separate lcd screen (and not kept at the correct aspect ratio).

Speculation Mode:

1) I'm assuming the Rank Meter at the top of the screen is Hyper Rank, right? (Haven't seen the 8min video yet, still downloading.)

2) Do hypers affect the game in the Daioujou-style, where rank is boosted during hyper, with a little carryover into the non-hyper game state; or is it Daifukkatsu-style, where hyper rank affects the game only while hypers are active?

3) The Dress System is really just a fancy name for ship-subtypes, right? I certainly looked like Shuri, Hikari and Maria could switch between Bomb, Power and Strong types when they were going through their wardrobes. (Or is it Shot, Laser and Expert a-la Daioujou?)

Because we all know all those Cave games are complete jokes and the achievements of people in those are irrelevant, right? Let's just dismiss the dozens and hundreds of hours some people have put into those games :|

Shot, Laser, Expert. Now with bikinis. :P

I don't mind the minor fan service. I mean, if people think this is bad just think about what they could be doing. This is nothing.

I just got worried about this along with some of the other aspects of the game that I can see from the vid. Thanks for reiterating.

From this livestream I spotted via Facebook here (probably was mentioned here before, sorry) it seems the rank jacks up by 1 each time a hyper is used, or at least towards the later part of the stream anyway. The bullet speeds seem to increase but the density not as much. Wouldn't have a clue beyond that observation though.
