Go on, just do it! You strike me as being more than qualified to vote. And you reguarly frequent an arcade to play shooters. That's commitment.

Also, whoa, 1000 posts already! Someone's a bit keen ;)

Sorry if I go back IT (I'd never thought I'd write such a line  )

By the way, if someone votes for Thunder Spirits (*whistle*) and someone else for TFAC, how can it be that they are counted as two different votes.
It's vote dispersion :x
This "specify platform" thing still doesn't sound too right.
Alas, Ikaruga is going...

Undesired, unwanted them...
What makes them go?

Cool - I will!

And yeah - 1000 posts. I feel weird about that! Every few days I swear I'm going to keep my daily post count down, and then something happens on the hi-score, trading station, etc etc, and I've done five in a day again! Awful! In my defense I never touch Facebook, Myspace, and very rarely any other forums... I think my post count across every other forum I've signed up to added together is 3!

I finally dropped the other shoe and kicked in my top 25 list.

I ranked the games in order of my personal enjoyment (well, mostly - Major Stryker is a guilty pleasure so I put it near the very bottom of the list), but when it came time to hand out points I gave most everything a nearly identical score. There are some games in the list that I might end up playing a whole lot more in the future and that would elevate their status to "homg bets gaem evr" whereas right now it's "I played this game a lot earlier and liked it quite a bit."

ONE OTHER THING THOUGH:

What's up with all the lists that go like this:

[25]
[24]
[23]
[22]
[21]
[20]
[19]
[18]
[17]
[16]
[15]
[1justcreamspants

Hey folks, if you're going to vote like that, it means you think that the top game is one point better than the game below it, two points better than the game another spot below, etc.
That's pretty bloody unlikely because it means you think that your least favorite game on the list is 1/25 as good as the #1 ranked game - yet you just moved evenly from one game to another. If you really want to promote your top 25, give them more even scores!

Okay, I'm taking it upon myself.

Acid King
lowemark
Zaarock
oxtsu
cigsthecat
bkk
GaijinPunch
Turrican

need to get their butts in gear.

And captain ahar needs some numbers.

Looks like DoDonpachi could win again! Only 4 days left to stop it!

I spread my interests too thinly to play enough shmups to vote on.

I was mulling over my list before posting the final one; couldn't decide between Thunder Force AC and Dragon Saber... And I still can't, 'coz I've changed it back to Dragon Saber...

Guess this poll got rusted and currently represents zero interest.

Guess you just said out loud what many people think

and since the people in "charge" of the poll seem very reluctant to any change in the system. I don't think the overall interest will go up anytime soon.

I think there's still enough votes for it to serve its purpose. Namely, advice on what I should buy next. :D

Is this about that thing you tried to do but everybody hated?

The new poll and interest are good, shame so many people are just ranking 25-24-23-et cetera, but that's how it goes sometimes. Looking forward to the results soon!

Update:

Gaijin Punch got his butt in gear and entered some votes!

Acid King
lowemark
Zaarock
oxtsu
cigsthecat
bkk
Turrican

STILL need to get their butts in gear! (unfinished votes)

And captain ahar filled in his numbers, although I'm not sure what "that'll do pig." means.

For the record:
I reluctantly removed Outzone and put Fire Shark in.

for the record:

while Enhasa removed Senko no Ronde from his list, -bridget- still has it.

I'm not sure what happens this year if one lists by mistake only 24 games, or if he lists 25 but there are a couple of non-shmups there.

Previous years it would have meant zero, as you could have listed as many games as you wanted. Now that each list must be EXACTLY 25, what's going to happen? a complete invalidation of the whole user's chart?

Also people who have Power Strike II (SMS or GG?) and Xevious Fardraut Densetsu (MSX2 or PCE?) in their lists: write the system in brackets please.

Clearly Twinkle Star Sprites should directly replace Senko no Ronde in Bridget's list. 8)

I think Schatten ruled out SnR, so if -bridget- doesn't replace it, he'll end up with a 24 list and I'm not sure how they'll cope with that. Maybe they could be nice and pm him asking for another entry...

List done. Took me all bloody morning changing and rearranging. Feeling slightly meek about the dominance of Cave in the top half of my list, but I like what I like I guess.
