All three versions are region-locked to their own regions, and I'll only be around in late February/early March myself, so just enjoy Illyrian's copy... there's a new version coming relatively soon to Europe too (it'll be out this month in the US, already out in Japan), but I'm just not liking Blazblue very much :|

Aliquantic: That's because Blazblue is harder than quantum physics, the entry requirements even for basic bread and butter combos is ridiculous, and I say that as someone who used to play I-No, Bridget and Potemkin in Guilty Gear.

Skykid: As I say I've played it like twice, just looking at the box makes me remember incredibly hard bread and butter combos and become slightly more angry!

You can get Continuum Shift II as free DLC and Continuum Shift Extend (lolz) is coming soon

That's interesting, who were you playing in BB? My initial character was Jin and I did get annoyed by a few things (the mash C move, dash cancelling out of a few of his things), and I was mostly fine with Lambda, which would be my character now if I actually played Extend. I'll admit my wooden fingers were scared by characters like Carl though :|

I don't actively dislike Blazblue, I just find it a little bland and given how hard it is to find a scene for it in most parts of the world, I can't really care too much about it :s

I'm in Germany at a games trade show until Wednesday, so I won't be there tomorrow to push MX7 down those stairs.

Anybody in Thursday? I'm well up for some more Outzone and Mushi Maniac.

I'll be down on Thursday too most likely this week. And any other day, really. Randomly found out I have this week off work, and next week too. Lol, teaching.

I'll be there, tits in hand. It's going to be a very fleeting visit though as I've got to be elsewhere this evening.

Planning a trip over for the end of March. Is DBAC still there?

Let us know when it is exactly that you're heading in. We'll come and say hello!

EDIT: And who else is in tonight? Just me, Rupert and MX7?

I'll be there.

Did Electrocoin John tell us that time that Burst is going to go away (for a show?) for a little then come back, or did I imagine that?

I can't make it tonight, but I'll be around next week for a few days.

After our trip to the Troc and seeing the set up in HMV with the fighter crowd, couldn't we arrange something similar with shooters (at HMV)? A 360 hooked up with the region free / PAL shooters available maybe on a quieter night? Will I be thrown out of Casino for even mentioning this?

Just a thought, as I didn't know HMV had that place going. I also liked it downstairs in Las Vegas, shame about the games though.

If that was on at casino that would be cool!

I can lend my copy of PS/MMP for that as I'm not really playing shmups at the moment apart from on my ipod.

I was thinking of something at HMV. What's the set up there - do players ask for certain games to be running or is it set?

We could play some different games, DS MBL, Pink Sweets, DFK BL etc.

EDIT: oops, and other stuff than Cave... though why anyone would want to is beyond me

That sounds like a pretty sweet setup, though I'm not sure if Casino would agree... especially if it means being able to play on a reasonably-sized screen :P (And thanks for the info Dan, I didn't know about this place for fighting games)

We've talked about having a 360 set up in Casino before but they won't do it - even though they had one with a crap football game running on a huge screen. It was set up on a timer from what I remember, so you had to keep pumping money in to play. Plus the 360 was hidden and the joypads locked to the machine.

So I meant having some shooters playable at HMV, somewhere different for us to go every now and then.

Dan, oh I see, I was being dumb :| How easy do you think it'd be to get shooters running over there? I've looked around on Neo Arcadia for details but couldn't find much of anything at all.

I heard that. It was either for ICE (AKA ATEI) or for something like RePlay.

Either way, I think that time has passed, so it should be staying.

I'm sure we could sort something out at that HMV place, by the way. I'm quite up for scoping the place. I've never been in there; only strolled past.

I already asked Inti from Neo Empire this question when I was down over Christmas.
His answer about shoot'em ups being available for play in GamerBase HMV was: "HMV only allows the games they actually sell to run on those stations".
He said MAME was therefore a no-no and its even unlikely for the X360 to be allowed to run its shooter titles..
Its gotta be far from impossible though....

Plus judging from the state of the cabs downstairs at Goodge, it would serve Electrocoin right if there was a shift of location.
Speaking of which, Firebug (Mister Starkey) from Neo Empire has apparently opened up a new arcade. Check the Neo Empire forum for details.

This arcade in Potters Bar sounds very exciting. I think we need a Casino day trip to go and visit it.

@DEL: Do you know when Fire Bug's arcade is opening? Or of its already open? Can't find much info on Facebook :?:

A new arcade in the UK pretty much in London? Let's get down there!

And when are people in this week. Tuesday should be OK for me, but as my magazine goes to press that day, I reserve the right to be really late!
