I'm still on Mushi. I've dropped arrange mode however, in favour of original and a little bit of maniac. Too much fun...

Does anyone know where I can find good replays of original mode? I was suprised to find none on youtube, and the superplay links don't work.

P-47 Aces. Pretty manic for a hori. Very fast action, intense stages and bosses.

Got a 1cc on Touhou: Imperishable Night the other day.

I got a copy of the Gundemonium Trilogy for PC yesterday, I recorded my blind(3cc) run at Gundeadligne here.

Been playing more Radirgy Noa on the 360. I can now regularly destroy the midboss who shows up in the odd stages, but either the stage 8 boss fucks me over or stage 9 destroys me. I'd love to know how the guy in the super-play triggers an extend at the beginning of every stage.

Failing miserably at Sonic Wings Special on PS3 (available now for $5.99 in the PSOne Imports section!). Aside from that, wishing and hoping that Monkey Paw Games brings over Zanac X Zanac next/sharpish.

Pretty sure I'll be switching between Giga Wing and Sonic Wings Special in the meantime.

Mushihimesama Futari 1.5 Original. I can get to the final boss but I'm still some way off from getting the ALL on this one.

Yeah, it's hard as hell, but I keep coming back. I think it really is a masterpiece. I have absolutely no nostalga for this game, since the first time I played it was earlier this year and I keep coming back to play it over any of the more recent offerings (including Ketsui, Ibara, Mushi Futari, DOJ, Galudas, Raiden IV & Aces, etc.).

Yeah same here. It's weird 'cause i have always been a fan of the Raiden games but never really sought out any shooters until last year when i was in Japan. While i was there i thought fuck it i may as well buy a J360 and all the shmups i could find and now im hooked. So like you, im going backwards in finding all these awesome games that have been around for years but didn't know about them. Battle Garegga is a great game no doubt, but it certainly tries my patience at times.

Dodonpachi DOJBLEX on the other hand i could play forever without getting too frustrated. Ketsui is a game that for reason hasnt really interested me much. Ive only played the DS version, but it didn't grab me so i haven't bought the 360 version. But that may change....maybe.....i also havent bought DeathsmilesIIx as most people have been slamming it since it came out....is it really that bad?

Dude seriously do not think about ketsui ds when considering the purchase of ketsui for 360 , ketsui ds doesnt reflect 5% of what ketsui is .

Here I need be in agree with you. Ketsui is a nice game until you start at play for score, that green cubes really hinder my vision, plus the game requires lots of memorization both in location and in enemies patterns (you need be in each place of screen point blank enemies). DOJBL have a shit aspect compared at ketsui but DOJBL is very better than DOJWL a totally new game and score in DOJ is shoot from safe spot.

People slam it for a few reasons. One, the 3D is very different from the norm, most will say this is a bad thing but I find it very nice to look at. After playing it for a few months I went back to the first Deathsmiiles and was shocked at how dated it looked (still a gorgeous game, but visually way more old school). Two, Halloween theme from the first game fit much better than Christmas, I can't help but wonder if Deathsmiles 3 is going to be Valentine themed. Three, the port is a mess - arcade mode is bordered and only takes up 3/4 of the screen, and X-mode is widescreen which gives us 4:3 users nearly unreadable HUD and letterboxed play field.

Now for the good! One, much better implementation of the lock on shot. Two, arcade and X-mode are very different, each offering solid experiences. Three, although the bouncing skulls are gone, the scoring system has an addictive quality (many would agree that it is improved). Four, great music and bullet patterns - which to me are two of the most important aspects of a good shmup.

I think you should ignore the haters and try it, make a descision based on your own experience.

ESP Ra.de. I can get to the Stage 5 boss as J.B. the 5th. I notice that, in this game, I bomb more than I need to, rather than not bombing, like I do in DDP. This often gets me killed in places where I really do need to bomb. Still better than DDP.

I should sleep.
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

Atm I can get to stage 5 in 1 credit, I hate those green monsters that grap hold of you and stop you from moving which can take too long to kill if your using homing shot and / or at level 1 or 2
