Pretty asinine on their part to use those configs when they are trying to promote a game which has the potential to be extremely accessible.

hey guys! Live from PAX East: I just sent this tip/story to siliconera and kotaku.

anyway:

At PAX East 2010, I spoke with Aksys Games exhibitors about the exciting, sexy Deathsmiles release. The playable game demo featured 3 stages from Mega Black Label, the Japanese DLC which is included in the US release. Above the demo TV, June 2010 was printed. Upon confirmation, I was told June 29th was the hopeful release date. Aksys Games are preparing a limited edition package that will be announced in more detail in a couple of weeks. They bumped up their marketing strategy with some much needed cosplay of the characters. Here's to hoping the goth and loli fan base will join shmup lovers to support the US release this summer!

Obviously it's cross-promotion for the sex-changing characters in Espgaluda II, which Aksys will release in the US soon.

Yikes, those girls look like guys. Well, I think Casper looks OK.

Anyway, does anyone have pictures of when they had the cosplay for the DS thing in Japan(all those years ago). I'd like to compare, and this thread has way too many pages for me to go through.

June 29th for a release date. Gives me some time with Espgaluda. I hope there's another gap between this and Guwange and Sky Stage. Too many shmups! How am I gonna get any 1CC's this year?

You make it sound like they actually have release dates for Guwange and Sky Stage. Hardly.

Hell, I'd be happy if DS date is right

I have some older stuff I wan't to play, but I'm exctited for the new stuff. I'm spending more time with, new to me, depth. So newer games take me a little longer to clear.

I only saw the Rosa and Casper cosplayers while I was at the booth, but the costumes they wore were really very well done. I imagine the people in the costumes were just random Aksys staffers that were willing to do it (or paid enough to do it), so not much to be done in that department... but yeah, they looked much better in person.

For anyone interested in that Deathsmiles faceplate which may or may not be one-of-a-kind, I've put it up on eBay. You can find the thread/link in the trading sub forum. I haven't heard anything about Saturday's winner, so we don't know if they even got a faceplate, and I'm quite certain I have the same exact faceplate which was pictured in Aksys' blog, which could be a coincidence, or it could mean it's one of a kind.

As for those cosplayers, they might not have been total babes, but I think you guys are being a little hard on them. :) The costumes were pretty good and Casper was actually a pretty good approximation.

Yeah, she was really, really close... if only she wasn't so tall, it'd be perfect. Of course, I dunno if there are laws against hiring models that would actually be the appropriate age...

A promotional deathsmiles faceplate. Is it legit??? Is it from someone here??? I remembered reading somewhere someone in here won the contest. Is it even worth the price??? 6 days left and already $152.50.
