Typing of the Dead is excellent. Just beware if you try using the touch typing drills, as it doesn't let you cancel out of them until you get a passing grade! I have suffered like G did.

ZOM, that box art alone makes me want to buy that game+ a Famicom.

This is the cool shit I just bought:

To my knowledge, "Wake up! Stand up! and Go!" is the only Pillows live performance DVD in existence. It was filmed during their 2007 tour.

Of course, I had to buy and revisit this game.

And last but certainly not least, my first ever vinyl record (Greg's favorite  ). This orange disc edition is apparently rare, according to an acquaintance of mine. Now I just need something to play it on.

Not only the boxart is good, the game's great too. 8)
Also known as "the lost Enix gem" (even though it's just published by Enix, it's developed by WESTONE). Dark atmosphere, dark music, dark plot. Gameplay-wise, I'd say think of Japanized Diablo with random encounters that initiate a tactical battle-system akin to some typical SRPGs of that time-period. The engine's perspective plays also in an Isometric view.
Other interesting points to note are the ability to play as both, protagonist and antagonist (IIRC the game switches in an alternate fashion). There's also a system in place to let the game feel sorta like a "Survival RPG"(for lack of a better term): each character has a "Soul Power" counter, if said counter reaches 0 it's game over. Now, each step you take decreases the counter and each foe you kill increases it. That's pretty much all that I remember, since I last played it(emulated) many moons ago. IIRC there also an incomplete English translation-patch around, but only the very beginning of the game is translated. Still good to have a quick look at the game's early plot.

P.S. I actually never checked if someone picked the translation up again. There seemed to be very little interest in seeing this game translated back in 2000-something. For shame.

EDIT: What do you know, after a very lenghty hiatus the patch jumped from version 0.25 to 0.35 just two months back. Contender for "longest translation patch in the works" :o

Thanks, drauch! It's definitely worth playing through. Even though the combat is typical Bethesda (i.e. not too great), the world is highly immersive, the soundtrack is impeccable, the story is rich with a lot of thought put into it, and the graphics look incredible for its time. (But I'm buying a Voodoo 3DFX card, because the only other option is software mode, and it looks like shit in that mode). I guess it's a childhood thing, but this game impacted my gaming life more than Morrowind did. There is so much to do, so many people to talk to and secrets to find. The inscription on the box says it best: "If you get stuck in one area, just explore another." It's definitely the most underrated in the Elder Scrolls saga.
Nice. One the best "alternative" records to come out of the 90's.
Amen to that. There aren't too many albums that I can listen to without skipping a song.

I didn't buy anything awesome and I don't have a pic, but I just got tickets to go to an EA Games 'community event' in Sydney on Friday night.

Apparently we'll get to try out the new American McGee's Alice as well as Shadows of the Damned. Free food and drink plus a meet and greet with American McGee, Suda51 and Ken Wong, the art designer for Alice. Should be a good night.

I think the game's reputation is worse than the actual game is. It's just a "OMG, what the heck are you thinking, Japan?" type of thing. If you were the type of guy in high school who would go around poking girls with your finger and them telling you to knock it off, then I guess you could get stimulated with this game. Otherwise, it's just some brainless fun that SNK cranked out. The friend who sent this to me, however, is a bit of an oddball, so I'm not really surprised that he had this game. Undamned knows him, so he knows what I'm talking about.

Agreed with greg about Doki Doki Majo Shinpan. Also, it would've been more odd if the guy sent you a copy of Duel Love.

Anyways, finally found a good looking copy of this:

Heh, well, I did have it as well, but after first 15 minutes of overglossy overbland overproduction I felt sorry for my money. Hope that this won't happen to you

I finished it in 8 hrs. Found it a bit repetitive and not a patch on the sequel, but not a bad game for £8.

Don't lie, you just hated it because it doesn't have auto-aim like Halo and the lot.

Yeah, and some pink aliens. Oh wait, but I've never played Halo or any of the sequels :P
