My Wii should be here tomorrow, how do the nunchucks play with SNP? Should I look into a classic controller?

CRIMZON MOTHERFUCKING CLOVER IS AWESOME
Yeah. Maxlords, after trying Crimzon Clover, go ahead and enjoy Erst Kerf. I'm glad someone else is interested in this game, it never got the attention it deserved. It's a beautiful tactical shooter and the music is awesome! (just ignore the weirdly animated main character though) Shit gets though pretty fast.

RefleX is an insta-classic although it may be a love/hate situation. I love it, like everything Siter Skain put out. Badass as hell, great music too.

Now, for my loot: watatapanese manga, Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica #1 and #2, Gosick #1 and Joshiraku #1, the limited edition with a crazy weird CD featuring Rakugo by some group called AKB48... which appears to be super-mega-ultra popular.

Yeah, Crimzon Clover definitely isn't bad. I actually already had it installed on my puter as well as RefleX. I just wanted to get legit copies, I liked em so much! Got all the Siter Skain stuff now :)

As for Erst Kerf.....what a unique game! Definitely extremely challenging....I managed to get as far as the Level 2 boss on Arcade mode on the first runthrough. There's lots of stuff to kid behind but it almost seems like you can't hide behind anything if you want to get any real score at all.....looks like there's some sort of chaining element for kills which gives you a massive score multiplier and hiding behind stuff and picking em off eliminates the score almost completely. It's suprisingly difficult to dodge stuff in a full 360 degree range of motion with the mouse while navigating...but the control scheme works. Getting SURROUNDED by bullet patterns is pretty different for sure! I like it a lot actually. Just wish it was a LITTLE more crisp graphically....but it's still quite nice!

Gods above man, what the hell is wrong with you?!

I almost threw X-2 out the window after 30 minutes play. It never darkened my PS2 again.

That said, it probably helps if you can't understand any of it.

very good. i don't think anyone really plays this game with a classic controller at all.

you might want to remap the melee attack to the - button, though.

I enjoyed X-2 quite a bit. Even though I absolutely hated X. If you take whiny Tidus out of the equation then the world of Spira is rather nice. Plus the sphere-grid system is very reminiscent to Tactics & V, both games I liked a bunch.

Thanks for the link! :P

I've heard stories that Reno used to have a good GG scene.

I still need to find an efficient way to practice; just like shooters, I'm sick of getting destroyed my friends and arch-rival: das_igloo.

Well I hated both of them.

In fact, I think I just hated all the Final Fantasy's after 9, and I wasn't too hot on the PSX ones either. But I keep meaning to check out XII and never seem to get round to it (it's the only one that appeals to me for some reason.)

IX is on of my favorites a long with VI & Tactics.

I hated X. I liked XII but if you haven't played it, you're not missing much.

Hated VII, enjoyed VIII quite a bit, IX was totally awesome by returning me to the SNES-era games.

I got too lost in monster hunting in XII and as a result, my interest burned out long before I finished the game. I did spend a lot of time with it though, and it a nice change of pace for the series. One of those games I mean to go back to but probably never will.

I liked the concepts of X-2's job system, but the game as a whole didn't interest me enough to see it through more than a few hours. I might not have gone into it with the right frame of mind.

get some good deal since my old pair broke a few weeks ago
Grado SR225i+Nuforce udac2
apart from cosmetic wear, both of them work (and sound) fantastically
yeah, i know that there're so many good Dacs than this one, but the price is too good to let it go 50$(headphones)+20$(DAC)

For starters good price on the 225is.

I'm have a RS-1is on my head at the moment.

The PS-1000 I heard really mixed things about it.

You can run ISO files with it and homebrew.
ISO compability is shit though, it's only useful for homebrew (since you can burn the ISOs anyway).

yup, bus is too slow for any commercial releases to run seamlessly. It's more handy for loading homebrew from dreamshell. Saves me from having to burn discs over and over.

I went to this junk store in town looking for a gamecube memory card and found these + a memory card for $10.

I love this store. I've found a 3DO, an PS arcade stick, a boxed SNES  and tons of other shit for cheap.

Nice, I love Kings Field. I've finished it half a dozen times at least. Although there's still a few spells I've never found. I think I'm overdue for another playthrough.

Played King's Field 2 once or twice. Tough, but I enjoyed it.

Clock Tower is one of my all time favorites. Must have gotten all the endings three or so times by now.

Cool purchase Mesh Control, I'm a big sucker for the King's Field series, so much that I have all entries three times in my possession: JP, NA and again JP in the Dark Side Box. They *are* a bit overaged nowadays, but the atmosphere is still there and it kicks ass. 8)

(you should get Shadow Tower & Shadow Tower Abyss now)

Funny you should say that, as I just got these. What I wasn't expecting is that Typing of the Dead, while still a novelty, is really good a great fun. The type of focus required takes my brain to a thrillingly intense place. It actually works as a credit-based game. So happy to have finally played it.

I still need to get that game. Nice buy.

I've actually purchased a matching keyboard. Should arrive soon. Hopefully all my netbook typing will have trained me to get a good score using the minikeyboard.
