I'm so ready for the port! Any thoughts or suggestions on these before I start customizing my cab in preparation for SDOJ?

you gain ginourmous quantities of hits when you use high level hypers... moreover, you can spam then thanks to the end of hyper trick.

Basically you save up a crapload of hypers on stage 4 and the beginning of stage 5. You then time when you activate your 7-10 hypers at once so that they end just as the screen fills with large stars. The large stars refill the hyper guage 7-10 times more and you repeat the process. The easiest way is to time the midboss kills to recharge as they all have good patterns for this on stage 5.

You can pretty handily get 5,000-8,000 hits when the hyper activates as well in some places as the bullets on the screen cancel into large gems if your GP meter is completely full and red at the time.

Don't be a fucking dick, that video shows what I meant about the hyper recharging, he chains recharges nicely for a while.

Yeah, put a CAVE logo in the start button and add graphics from the movestrip directly to the panel overlay showing what buttons does what, effectively making the whole panel a movestrip. 8)

Hey, don't snap. I was just expecting a good hyper chain on the midbosses (from what you mentioned on your earlier post) and got dissapointed.

This a 3 or 4 button game? I guess the same question would be, the the bomb/hyper system work the same as DOJ or DFK? Thanks!

Famitsu has some news about the SaidaiOuJou port (translation isn't mine, don't shoot me!):

- arrange mode is programmed by Ikeda, Ichimura and Yagawa (wow!), it'll be totally different from previous arrange modes and will be focused on story, with voice acting by Aya Hirano
- it will feature a new elemental doll, Saya (http://www.senpaigamer.com/sites/defaul ... ujou-2.jpg)
- vertical scrolling, but 16:9 aspect ratio, like Jamestown and Gigawing
- supports coop multiplayer up to 3 players (not specificed if online or offline), there's only one score counter shared between players (great idea!)
- there will be an anime intro, sung by Aya Hirano
- Yagawa is in charge of the port (in previous games he only did arrange modes)
- it'll be their last game for 360
- they're working toghether with Microsoft
- there will be a big announcement on March 2013 (can't wait!!!! :3 )

Surely the "big announcement" will just be the release date along with whether it's getting a simultaneous worldwide release?

Aya Hirano for a VA huh? Pretty high profile seiyuu for just the port of this game, also I wonder how they could have an involved and/or lengthy story mode if they don't create any new stages.

Maybe the big announcement is their triumphant return to STG's :lol:

Big Announcement = Entire DonPachi series is included?

Microsoft is probably going to be the publisher, and it will probably be a worldwide release. I don't see CAVE adding such expense to the game otherwise.

Maybe Microsoft will finally put a little effort behind promoting some of their exclusives that aren't HALO and GoW.

As of right now, only the original DonPachi is missing.

DoDonPachi is indeed in Instant Brain, unlocked after finishing the visual novel once, and it can be played with a pad or Kinect.

DaiOuJou was ported by 5pb, so that might be one reason why it wasn't added in this collection. I remember it having long loading times when switching between menus and things like that, but once the games themselves loaded, it was fine.
