So I take it WiiU hasn't sold tons yet? I really enjoy my one and the kids love to play Mario and Nintendo Land.
I hope they pull the finger out and get some adverts and more games out soon though :)

I heard somewhere that Costco has dropped their selling price, even though Ninty hasn't yet.

Rayman Legends is no longer Wii U exclusive (coming to PS360, too), and has been delayed until September (was supposed to be released for Wii U this month).

Yeah, that's a bit of a blow. You'd think Nintendo would be splashing the cash to get more adverts and exclusive s for the machine :(

Nintendo in general has largely mishandled the launch of the WiiU (remember all the advertising the Wii had before its launch? Where is the WiiU market presence?), and they are paying for it. Hopefully they can get things back in gear.

This just in: In January, which was Wii U's third month on the market, 57,000 Wii Us were sold in the US (even Vita did 73,000 during its third month). Multiplatform titles are currently selling better on Vita than on Wii U. I never expected Wii U to do *that* badly. Heads will roll?

I'm reminded of the old "PS3 has no games" argument, but at least the PS3 was able to rise from that and has had years to do so. Wii U hasn't got long before the competitors come up with their next product I think (a year tops).

Quite a kurfluffle on this one. It is amuse to see tools rage over Bayonetta being an exclusive, though. They'll get up to speed when their staples are out; god knows they're doomed once Miyamoto carks it, though.

The character design for the superhero themed Pikman clone is undeniably cute though. Toilet/Bathtub Head kind of guys.

It's kind of a shame all this aesthetics would go to a shallow smash-up'er, though.

Note that the message above is from Amazon's official twitter account, which makes it even funnier.

I have no problem with it being exclusive. If anything, Wii U needs MORE exclusive stuff that gamers want to play. I for one don't want to see Wii U fail, I just want Nintendo to pull its head out of its ass.

Why of course. Internet console snobbery is just insane these days though, you know? It makes the Genesis vs. SNES era look like a friendly hug. "Nintenyearolds" should not be a word that exists inside my brain. :psyduck:

I don't really mind if the Wii U fails, felt like a mis-hit from the announcement and I was seriously underwhelmed when I had my first pre-release hands on. It just feels like a Wii combined with a DS, and that's pretty lazy by Nintendo standards. I'll still be surprised if they can turn it around.

I'm secretly hoping they drop it brutally, Virtual Boy style, and bounce back with something more interesting.

I just don't want Ninty to get out of the hardware business. They have a certain purity of purpose that dispels creeping cynicism. When I think back on this past gen, I certainly got more playtime out of my 360, but my ultimate favorites were definitely on the Wii. Can't say I plan on getting a Wii U anytime soon, though. Probably will get a 3DS before long, however.

The R&D for the WiiU`s lagless streaming technology was a considerable investment on Nintendo`s part. Discontinuing the system so soon after launch would mean all those bucks would go to waste(and so would any consumer trust in Nintendo`s home consoles). The best Nintendo could do at the moment is concentrate their efforts on producing quality software for the system and hope that the WiiU catches enough fire to reach at least the Gamecube or even N64 levels of sales.

I'm very satisfied with my Wii U, aside from the games of course. The hardware is solid and I'm not really looking for anything beyond the current gen in terms of capabilities. If they can shore up framerates that's great but my guess is that we'll get more pixels (that I won't see from my couch) and framerates par for the current course. But getting away from the Wii remote and terrible SD resolution is sweet.

Given the way the Wii U has been handled, the best it can do right now is achieve Gamecube-level sales, which is pretty abysmal.

The console will definitely pick up steam and perhaps might prove me wrong, but this will in no way mirror the phenomenal success of the Wii.

After the demo I had on it (Rayman) I thought the touch screen took you away from the game and made a mess of it.

I'll buy it on PS3 though, if no touch screen crap.

I very much doubt that any console released from here on out will ever come even remotely close.

Combine the DS and home product lines into one, who knows.

Well N64 sales would definitely be preferable. I don't think all hope is lost, it is Nintendo after all, so their first party stuff will probably find a way to make the interface seem far more inspiring than it did to me at the HW test. I mean, swiping ninja stars into the screen at paper cut out targets... it felt like I was playing on a smartphone. I'm told Zombie U is actually meant to be quite good though.

Ha ha, okay, I don't really wish failure on it. I just like the Nintendo that make smart business decisions, and since the announcement I never felt as thought the Wii U was up to their usual grade. I do see experimental console gaming coming to the end of the line though, so I don't envy the crew responsible for new innovations.

I was in HMV Oxford st and noticed that they were selling the 32GB WiiU with Nintendo Land and ZombiU for £199... so I got one on impulse! That's pretty damn cheap, I mean, to my mind it's kind of worth it for ZombiU and Wind Waker remake.

The thing is it's such a drop in price that maybe the console really is doomed. Had to dig out this thread.

£199? That'd be a bargain if there were more than about 3 games for the ruddy thing that weren't shovelware or old ports of current gen games. Or indeed anything in the pipeline.

It's going down unless they actually start putting games out on it FFS. Even hyping something up that's 6 months or so away would be an improvement!

Yeah it's $50 off in the US too from Bestbuy. Some of the launch games are on discount as well.
