Make sure the polarity is right! Tip should be positive.

I have another question - lol sorry you must think I am a right pain.

I found my AC adapter and the gauge goes

DC 0/3/4.5/6/7.5/9/12 V

Its does not have a 5V, is that adaptor no good then?

Pin 1 on the IC is HSYNC. (NOT SURE WHAT TO DO)

Both IC grounds can be connected to the composite ground on the SCART plug (pin 17). (NOT SURE WHAT TO DO)

Composite Input is SCART pin 20. (NOT SURE WHAT TO DO)

Wire the RGB of the header loom to RGB SCART (pins 15,11 & 7). (DONE)

Wire the HSYNC of the header (grey) to pin 1 on the IC. (DONE)

Wire the VSYNC of the header (yellow) to pin 3 on the IC. (DONE)

Wire the GROUND of the header (black) to SCART pin 17. (DONE)

Wire COMPOSITE SYNC from SCART (pin 20) to the capacitor in-line with pin 2 on the IC. (DONE)

Wire IC Pin 8 (power) to the positive on the CGA to VGA scaler.(DONE)

Wire the phono audio breakout to SCART pin 2,4 & 6 (Right, Ground and Left). (DONE)

I know this is frustrating, and its a simple thing to do but I just wanna make sure I am doing it all right

I seem to be having no joy as I cant even get my Dreamcast to work via VGA, thats without the scart thing I made.

Pin 1 on the IC is HSYNC. (NOT SURE WHAT TO DO)
This is what needs to be connected to the HSYNC on your header cable for the scaler, as documented on Page 1.

Both IC grounds can be connected to the composite ground on the SCART plug (pin 17). (NOT SURE WHAT TO DO)
The PCB has TWO grounds coming off it. You have been told to link the two, which you have done with the wire. This wire then needs to be fed to PIN 17 (which is a ground) on the SCART.

Composite Input is SCART pin 20. (NOT SURE WHAT TO DO)
On the diagram above PIN 2 on the IC needs a composite video input. This needs to be taken from PIN 20 on your SCART socket.

Ok
I wouldnt know where to start
find universal ABS case (2-4$) and laser plotter (6$)
http://kowal.itcom.pl/Files/GBS-kowal.pdf
adept case side to your casing.
but don't you have any control buttons ? how do you change your settings ?
I work on this. it should be good

drill up cover (4 hole) and glue this to microbuttons

Hey I managed to find a power supply that WORKS!!

I fired it up & set the lang to English. I connected up my Dreamcast first (Jap machine) & all I get is a green screen, then no signal then green screen?

I tried it with my PC & I get the same outcome. I tried changing the resolution, still the same.

Can I not hook my DC & PC to this device is it only meant for RGB Console?

No VGA.

Is there no reason to use this device if I am using VGA then?

Very nice work (as usual), kowal. Why not solder wires to the scaler's buttons and use small pushbuttons for the menu/auto buttons? That's what I plan on doing when I buy one of these for my supergun project.

I have been trying for the last 2 days to sort out the RGB scart input with no success.

If I send someone my header cable with scart, phonos attached etc can someone check/fix it for me?

I dont mind paying some paypal money if anyone can help me out.

IMO the easiest thing to do is a buy a Sync Strike for this purpose. http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=37285

With regard to your DC not working via VGA..... what have you set the input to on the scaler - RGBHV?

The thing is I have already spent £17 on parts from Maplins (not £7) as I needed wire, PCB board, th IC chip was £4 alone etc & I on a really tight budget (unemployed) so I really can’t lay out any more money on this.

I guess I will have to stick it back in its box & come back to it another time

Thanks again Fagan for your persistence it trying to help me out

New day, another attempt

I'm gonna strip the PCB back down & try again later on.
