Two questions...

I know you live right by the Belmont station, but I wasn't quite sure where to get on. I checked the map and it looks like Quincy is the closest stop to Union Station. Is that right?

I doubt I can take booze on the bus. :? Is there a place nearby where I can pick something up? On Google Maps I saw there was some place called 1000 Liquors right by the Belmont station...

@mrtie: Do you think you could have that twinstick mod done by next week? Then you wouldn't have to ship them to me.

@Sonic R: Did you ever buy that copy of TGM off of Tommy? I'd like to see that at some point, even if the Tetris connoisseurs were disappointed by it.

I don't think I have anything cool to bring. Sonic R already has the JP 360 covered (and the Seimitsu modded SFIV stick I assume). I could bring my JP copy of RFA, but I'm guessing somebody else is already bringing the US version.

For sure Davey, I will also be giving you your $20 back you gave me for shipping this ended up getting shelved for other things far too long and I'm really sorry about that, but rest assured it will be there.

Ok - typig this on an iPod touch so this might get a little rocky.

@mrtie - no need to bring the cab, but the tupper gun would be awesome.
@Davey - There is a liquor store on my block that has everythin from good wine to 40oz malt liquor. An excellent place for sure.
@Ayanami - that really sucks you can't make it! Who am I hpna learn/steal apb tehniques from?
@Andi and everyone else - I'll be at my place by 3 is Friday, so wheneve people start showing up is when it starts.

I probably missed some questions, but I'll jab to check and get to them tomorrow. Typing this long of a post onhis thing is no easy task. :)

It's quite a bit easier on a telephone; I hate typing on my IPT ^_~

And I may yet make it, on the off-chance I'm not scheduled to work the 2nd through the fourth >.> Chances are slim, however.

As you can probably guess by my lack of posting, I won't be able to make it. I have a couple other things going on that weekend coupled with I am broke until next year basically. Yes next year, caught in a cycle of having my next paycheck already spent on necessities before I even get paid. Seems like things have been piling on like crazy lately coupled with some unexpected difficulties for my family, so I'll have to pass.

Yeah, long story, but basically my dad is retired now and since he's not 55 he's caught in this weird mix of disability/insurance/pension Catch 22's. So he could work, but he hit his lifetime cap on insurance due to his cancer treatments and since he's not 55 he can't get full pension and all this other shit. Its kind of a joke that things would be so complicated but I'm paying part of their bills now, so basically I have like $150 to last me 2 weeks every paycheck which doesn't go far once you factor in gas and lunch and whatnot. And I have a credit card that's coming due in March that has been spiraling out of control.

Could you be a pal and put that money towards some Two Hearted Ale? :D If not I'll pick up something locally in Chicago.

I will be the only one representing NESescity? :( Oh well, you obviously have more important matters to attend to; sounds like a perfect storm of bad luck. :?

Oh shit dude, NESescity? Did I sell you some Samba maracas years and years ago? What was your name on there? I still talk to Bub quite regularly. Yeah, pretty much perfect storm of bad luck in my dad's case. I mean I have money just not enough to really live so to speak, more or less money for gas and food but other than that not too much really. Trying to get back ahead.

Yeah, I bought those maracas. I was Anti-Felix over at NESescity. I swear that board will still exist 20 years from now even when there's two posts per year.

That's wild. I just talked to Bubblun about 15 minutes ago but forgot to mention you were on here. I sold off a good portion of my NES collection. Dropped from about 300 games down to 150. A local shop that has hundreds of games is clearing them out at $2 a cart now just to open up space. I haven't picked anything up but there's tons of rare stuff in the guy's bin.

Man, caldwert, that sucks - but I've been there before for sure. If something changes in the net week, I'd love to see you make it.
Ditto for Ayanami and all the other homies who are unable to attend. I'll have another one for sure, so save your duckets and get ready for Winter Carnival 2010!

I just sent pm's to all who replied in the thread, so if you didn't get one and need my addy and info, hot me up and I'll be glad to get it to you.

Look forward to seeing you all soon!

OK here's the scheme fellas. I need 2-3 roughnecks to accompany me to People Play Games at about 4-5pm on Friday for a good old fashioned heist. I have a Turbo Duo on the way and I need to build an instant collection. I have the treasure map and that leads to a hidden back room with the Sapphire and the Nexzr and the Soldier Blade specials. I would also like to grab the Dragon Force off the shelf. Who's down?

I'll go. I need to check their prices on a Saturn memory cartridge anyway. There's also another place not too far out of the city that I hear is really cheap (it's called Video Games Then & Now if you want to look into it). Been meaning to check it out. I've read that the stock is disorganized and the employees aren't helpful, but that just suggests to me that I'll have a better chance of finding something cheap. People can't buy the stuff out from under me if they can't find it.

And also, does anyone that is going to be there on Friday have any PC Engine or Turbo cd games they wanna sell? I just got a duo and I don't have any games! And the jump button on my controller is broken, it makes Rondo A LOT more challenging!

Ok, looks like I'll be making it in on Friday evening. Still floorspace available for both nights?

Currently debating between driving and doing the MegaBus, probably leaning toward the latter. Brown line from Union Station to Belmont (fitting, given your CV enthusiasm :)), then about a block southwest, right?

Thanks, this is looking like it will be awesome. Looking forward to it!

Video Games Then & Now (also known as Video Games Etc.) is pretty great. They rarely have anything astoundingly rare, but they do have some interesting items and accessories. Good NES selection. Okay Genesis Selection. Awful Saturn Selection. However, they do keep tons of consoles and accessories in stock. I got a Genesis Powerbase Converter there one time. They also have some interesting odds and ends like Neo Geo cartridges.

However, it's not in the city. It's out in the burbs.

See you there!

Yup - we got space.

Brown or Purple line - both will take you to Belmont.

Just brought the vs. Castlevania home tonight (been at work). Dave and I will be loading that and his cab up to my place tomorrow night. :)

Stick is done just finished testing it, was a pita having to cut out all the common GND stuff and re-wire it all to work on that bastard of an ex2 pcb, but it works, even if it's not pretty inside(twice as many wires etc), I zip tied the wires a bit to make it all fit and secured it and it's good to go, looks like perfectly unmodified DC twinstick sans the lovely little USB cord. I did not keep the mic/headset port intact simply because I didn't want to butcher up the plastic, I hope that's fine. And you have some two hearted with your name on it. Can't wait till tomorrow.

Excefuckingllent! I don't care about it looking messy inside; I probably won't be opening it again except maybe to do some regular maintenance (MentholMoose says there are some parts in there you should clean and lubricate once in a while... never did that ).

I rarely use my mic. Can I plug it into a second controller? Even if I can't, no big deal.

I need a cram session in Garegga tonight, can someone help? I knew this game was weird but dang. Icarus's Garegga guide reads like homework. Ah well, at least it's not Bakraid scoring. And there's an extra week of STGT to suck a little less.

Packed my Genesis flash cart with some shmup stuff, got Panorama Cotton on there this time. It's still for sale if anyone's interested.

Can't wait! Eight hour drive HOOO
