Shocky - Oldschoolers - 6,168,490 - 1-6 (MAME)

I was making good progress, but then I felt a great disturbance in the Force and had to stop :( Great game, btw! I love the idea of tearing a huge mothership apart section by section.

I ran into this one as well. It seemed to trigger when I red bombed right before a string of fighters was about to run into the bomb.
Hmm, similar phenomenon happened to me too. I'm not 100% if I bombed, but it was early in stage 1 and a small enemy flew straight through me. After that I discovered I was invulnerable, and while I was WTF the stage suddenly ended and I got crappy bonuses.

Things I hate part n: In every shmup, after I destroy a boss, I usually like to celebrate by shooting into thin space after the explosion. Needless to say, this little habit of mine has caused a lot of restarting...

By far my most least played week. Thunder Dragon 2 should have been played and you all know it. About 90% of my runs were ruined in stage 6 because of DYING ON THE FUCKING MULTIPLIER GRAPHICS.

Fuck you all.

No P-47 Aces love? :( (though I voted for Thunder Dragon 2 myself)

Also, if anyone is having trouble getting past stage 6, collect 3-5 laser powerups in stage 5 and don't die. The laser should be able to take care of the stage 6 enemies before the screen is littered with bullets.

Actually I prefer P-47 Aces to Thunder Dragon 2, but it got barely any votes so it never had a chance.

Damn the 1 million bonus to the deepest pits of hell. It sucked the fun out of playing this game for score.
My 1CCs so I can find the list easier myself

Yeah, that's why I was lame and voted for Thunder Dragon 2 myself.

Yeah, the bugs of this game are making me crazy.
How could I vote on this game in the place of Thunder Dragon 2? :(

Going underpowered into 1-4 is difficult for me. If only I had more than two hours total to play this week, I'd figure out how to deal. No such luck. I believe I'm done.

Good score sikraiken.

I'm stopping. The same bullshit happened again on the 2-5 Boss, this time I didn't even notice the fact that I had picked up a spread shot icon. So this game can go swivel

Lost my last life in such a stupid way, got really pissed.

I was going to be busy today, but what I was going to do got cancelled, so I got some more time to play it :) I'll try to better this score later, but I don't know if I'll be able to do it :)

I just had one more go, and got a bit further into 2-7, but the bit with the mines ended my run completely. Only added about 300k to my score. I like this game, very Raizing/Batsugun-like, and a lot of the tricks in those games apply here. But right now, I'd rather be playing something else. I'm very happy with my current best score and the knowledge that if I come back to it in the near-future, I still have a target I can hit.

Team scorepost later tonight.

Also, nice score, SiK. I've been working on strats, and can guess how to get around 24mil... but I don't feel like trying. ^_-

Done with the game; the amount of sheer luck needed on stages 7 and 8 (couldn't see the other way of killing the ball spewing... thing... without a smart bomb, and I was lucky to receive one just in time on my last life in this run) is too great to warrant another attempt. I would of course like to break 10 millions, but looping the game is already something I'm very satisfied with. :)

And now the game, and all those who voted for it, can go fuck themselves. And I mean that with nothing but respect

How did you record it ? I couldn't access the service mode unless I modify the DIP (which needs reseting the game and aborting the record).
