My old graphics card was a GeForce5 FX that got fried in the last hardware failure. Right now I have an ATI X550 series graphics card, but the principle is the same - just use your graphics card's display properties to TATE the desktop.
Cool :) Except I just found out my monitor doesn't like to be TATE'd :x

Beautiful. I am tempted to re-play Guwange again and get a better ALL.

Thanks for the vids, Icarus. I look forward to seeing your complete Guwange video. :)

gah, I can get to the stage 3 boss but even then its not showing me a score screen at game-over. I assume that means I have a horribly shitty score.

I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing in this game.

I'm back from holiday/vacation.

No time to chain.

I'll try to compete with Limbrooke for the lowest score.

How many credits are you putting in? The high score board won't show up until all available credits have been depleted.

ARgh, I don't have time to try this again, and seeing Icarus' replay of stage 1 revealed a whole bunch of new ways to improve score. This is real pain X_x
GaijinPunch wrote:Classic. Despite all the bullshit we had before this tournament, we have one person alleging that someone is cheating. It's a fucking videogame people.
Who's alleging that someone's cheating? Not me. I just asked what "replay verified" meant, and then criticized such data as proof. Personally I don't even see why people keep posting the high score screen captures, because this tournament is ultimately based on trust anyway.

Icarus wrote: I'm not bored or stupid enough to waste my time using states and video editing to fake a score, it does nothing for my abilities as a player.
I know. I wasn't pointing my finger at you. Or anyone. The fact still remains that some sad individuals somewhere (not necessarily on this forum at the moment) cheat, and there's no way of telling who. I just hope they grow up and realize that they are just cheating themselves.
Do you want a torrent set up, Mr Skeptic? Just because cheating apparently exists doesn't mean the board is rife with it.
No need for that. 1) It still wouldn't prove the scores 2) I believe you anyway. Actually I think a more solid proof is the fact that you seem to feel so offended about this, which is of course a natural reaction if you've worked hard for the score.

Are you of the "wow, big score, he must be cheating" crowd?
No. I've seen crazy scores being racked up in the arcades, and it's even probable that some of those ace players would end up on forum like this.

I'm with you Shocky, I don't understand why people are getting so bent out of shape since you haven't pointed the finger at anyone or made any accusations. Some people around here need to chill out.

And if someone uses the word "verified", then I expect at least an eyewitness report from a known forum member. Credibility can also be obtained by explaining scoring techniques, which you have already done.

Still I get this feeling that some players might use save states to skip the "routine" first couple of stages, and not necessarily even think of it as cheating, because they "would have cleared it anyway with the same or better score, it's just saving time". I hope I'm wrong on this. Anyways, I'm giving everyone the benefit of the doubt, and I'm sorry if I offended anyone in particular.
With some people I'm skeptical. However I know Icarus is a damned good player. I trust his scores as legit.

Only God and the Ceiling Cat would know. There could be save states between the stages or it might have been played in slow motion. Technical skills aside, one thing that cannot be faked is strategy. That player sure knows where to position and how to milk the game dry.

Don't get me wrong Shocky, I'm one of the bad guys or something (OCD maybe? ) but I think you're just too... Anal on the whole thing.
That record is certified by Arcadia, therefore by the owner of the arcade. It was recorded directly from the PCB. But this is not the important thing.
The will to prove in any way your scores is often enough for me. And if I can see a video or an inp, well, that's simply the best thing a normal person can do to prove his score and to share strategies. The thing I really don't like is when someone arrogantly state that proofs are for nerdz, OMG only videogamz, get a life etc.
