I was going to say that this stick isn't actually that bad, but then I saw the balltop. Care to let us know what's going on here?

It was modified - that's a Seimitsu add-on. Not a bad top, just looks kind of ugly with the bubbles and all.

I'm a total noob with arcade sticks, so I want to be sure I got a good deal. (spent $40 on it)

It's an ASCIIWARE PS2 and USB stick with the following mods:
Seimitsu LB-39 Smoke Bubble Top (can substitute a blue or green solid)
Seimitsu LS-56 Spring
OMRON levered Micro-Switches
Sanwa JL-PP1 Dustwasher
Metal spring cover to replace the stock plastic one

It is a Monopoly style board game released for the Famicom only. Rockman is not actually playable, you play as Wily, Right, Cossack, Kalinka or Roll. Pretty dull affair, but it has a few interesting remixed songs in it like Woodman.

http://www.romhacking.net/trans/766/

Just as a warning the lone translation for this game (from Rockman fansite Interordi) is pretty glitchy.

^^^thanks.

I'm a straight megaman or megaman x kind of guy. Not too big into all the spinoffs. Don't even care for power battlers.

Though I am curious, how are the game boy titles? anything like their nes counter parts?

Very similar. If you want to skip most of the fluff go for Rockman World 5/Mega Man V. It is a completely unique game and contains all the unique bosses from the previous four gameboy games as well. The gameplay dynamics are slightly different, but nothing too big. You have a charged rocket punch instead of a charge shot, but the screen size is small enough for it not to make a difference. 5 is also super gameboy compatible, the only one of the lot to be.

It's also the only Rockman game to contain a shmup stage. Rush is your ship, Wily's space station is a giant boss enemy!

Today there was a *lot* of stuff, not all of it was photoed but we'll start with what I did photo:

Here we have a red shockbox and insert for my Demon Front PGM cartridge. The shockbox is meant for MVS so required a bit of modification. Still turned excellent! Thank you, Southtown homebrew.

Image

Here is Samurai Showdown Anthology for PS2. I got it for fairly cheap off Amazon (cheaper than evilbay anyway, when did it turn into a high priced online shop?)

Image

This laserdisc is just a trip. It was released to stores back in the mid 80s for a special kiosk, and contains tons of old computer game and software ads. A real blast from the past I will have on youtube soon. For old timers like me (30 ish) its a must watch!

Also today I got the following for $80 at a local game shop:

Jungle green N64, translucent green, purple. and blue controllers, 2 GC to GBA adapters (for zelda and such), 4 nes games, 3 Genesis controllers, Mortal Kombat Trilogy PS1, Lifeline PS2 with usb headset, Gungrave PS2, Xbox LCD monitor I will mod into RGB workbench, and 22 N64 games.

The N64 games:

Perfect Dark, Diddy King Racing, Waverace, Yoshi Story, F Zero X, Mario Kart 64, Turok 1, Turok 2, Excitebike 64, Zelda Majoras Mask, Jet Force Gemini, Mario 64, Mario 64, Smash Bros, Starfox 64, Clay Fighter 63 1/3, Duke Nukem Zero Hour, Gauntlet Legends, Fighters Destiny 2, Aero Gauge, Road Rash 64, 007 World is not enough, Winback.

Excellent get, Arasoi! I, too, have always fancied rigging a small RGB lcd screen into my test bench, but my old Amiga monitor just keeps on kickin'! Also digging on that PGM shock box. Demon Front has been on my "curious" list for some time.

Here's a recent score that I've been hoping to get for a while, now: Mr. Driller Ace.

Image

Complete, in great condition, and only cost ~$13, including shipping from Japan Land! I think that pretty much finishes my Mr. Driller collection, too (Mr.D DC, Mr.D 2 PCB, Mr.D Great PCB, Drill Spirits DS, Drill Land GC)!

Wow, you all have scored some serious stuff. This beats the "New PCB" thread by a MILE...

And.. a video.
I haven't actively browsed/used this forum in many years and it's no longer an accurate representation of me.

I have retired from genre-specific content creation after 13 years, but I'll always love this little genre in my own personal way.

How's the Ar Tonelico series on the PS3? I remember Gust's latter PS2 stuff started implementing some 3D and even some low res 2D backgrounds. Not the best in the world, but the games weren't bad... at least the few I played.
