-The port will have an anime intro with a song by Aya Hirano - a first for any Cave game! The anime is being done by a well-known company. It will be previewed early next year.
last i heard about hirano aya is when she got bashed reallllly hard by otakus due to her sleeping around with her band members. and her back to business seiyuu work is SDOJ?
It is to us a sufficient body in which, fairies and it is packed and can group of play.

Dodonpachi - The Anime
More than that, this
-The arrange mode is being done by S.Yagawa, Ikeda, and Ichimura. S.Yagawa is doing the basics, while Ikeda and Ichimura are programming the rest. Only one character is playable in this mode (the new character, voiced by Aya Hirano). There will be difficulty settings based on shot type, like in the arcade game. It will have a heavy story mode, fully voiced. It will be quite unlike any previous arrange modes or black label modes.
I don't know how to feel about this... a Cave game with a real story mode...
The idea of a story mode for an arrange is nice and all, but I would much rather an arrange focusing more on the gameplay.
-The game will also have social aspects such as 3 player co-op teams that compete for online prizes like exclusive gamer icons. The scores of the three ships will accumulate and be posted as one score per team.
Seems interesting I suppose. Cave is really trying to go all out on this one but I'm not too sure on how things are going to turn out at this point.

These not-necessarily-focused-on-gameplay additions can only give the game more sales and appeal outside its intended audience. Everyone goes gaga for RSG's story mode, after all.

Sorry to break the momentum of your trap discussion but I'm out of the loop, will the 360 version be released outside Japan? How certain?
I got a Japanese 360 not long ago for this and the other non region free shmup releases which remains unopened for christmas.

There is a rumour that a localizing company will release SDOJ in the west on the same moment that the Japanese release.
Not sure if "west" comprise PAL + NTSC-A or only NTSC-A...
I've lost the ability to tell which replies are serious or sarcastic. This can only be the work of Asada. His ideas are worse than his shooting game skills. They are even worse than his posing stances. Worse than his camo pants even.

I think that's how they got her for SDOJ; no one wants a slut voice-actor, so she's probably really cheap now
Really excited for this, since I've been playing DOJ recently. Looks like everything I want out of Dodonpachi; I really don't think the series should pursue the fiddlier aspects of Cave scoring like DFK did. I think simplicity is its greatest asset. Combine that with flashy score items and loose chain breaks, and I'm on board.
I'm sure it's way too hard for me, but that's fine.

There you had to say it...
every time I hear that I shed a lonely tear in my heart. So much idiocy in Japan...
I bet that "big announcement" they're making in March will be a Windows 8-exclusive PC port of SDOJ. Since Microsoft Japan is apparently helping out so much with the 360 port of SDOJ, I think it would make sense.

That's not always the case. The 360 port of Senko no Ronde DUO being a good example. I dunno if this is a good gamble to make, considering past examples. Cave will at least need to market this feature really hard so that the feature's target audience is well-aware of it.
