Nestopia has the option to enforce aspect ratio, plus turn on scanlines at about 40-50, starts looking really good.

Just a habit. I prefer when the display takes up the entire screen so maybe it's some slight OCD

Figured I would try a run before bed, and all my strats finally seemed to click. No-miss 1CC Aero Fighters 2, first loop! I've come a long way since credit feeding it in a movie theater 15 years ago. Now to practice the second loop...

I got a 1CC on Mushihimesama after playing for a few days. One of the few games that took relatively little effort to clear. Either way, super satisfying.

Got around to clearing Mystic Square on lunatic with Mima. Took about 1.5 weeks of serious playing on lunatic when I decided that I was ready to move on from normal. I wouldn't be surprised if a majority of the time I played was spent on getting a good enough stage 1 since I had some problems figuring out how to get a good enough route for stage 1.

1CC'd Crimzon Clover Boost Mode on Novice this past summer. My first and so far only 1CC, so I feel like it's a huge accomplishment even on Novice (which is still pretty tough). Uploaded it to Youtube but the quality is so bad that I don't really like sharing it (and I don't think the replay works anymore since the most recent patch).

I am happy for you. I've been trying to 1CC Yie Ar Kung Fu on and off for the last 20 years. I can never never never, no matter how many lives I have, beat Blues. The fight feels really random, but there may be some trick I've just never picked up on. Maybe one day..

Thanks! For me it came down to giving it a low rank survivalist approach.
I didn’t consider using Shorty-C until Kaiser suggested it to me.

Here are a few tips if you are purely going for the clear.

Limit your options and powerups until highway or z. city, I only picked up 1 option for the first 4 stages.

Suicide down to your last life right before an extend, unless it’s right before a very hard part in the last two stages (to allow room for a un-intentional death)

Skip all the big bombs, by letting 3 go, a special extend drops! I had completely forgot about this, but getting 2 extra extends in the final 2 stages helped a lot!

Learn Grubby. At first he seems brutal, but with a plan he’s actually not that hard at all.

Man I already do a lot of this stuff (especially the extend thing, basically if you get a third life then die and grab all your powerups, the rank increases instead of decreasing) and my runs still fall apart in the very last stage, I use Grasshopper since it seems like the strongest Garegga ship, its bomb is straight-firing and really strong like Shorty's too, just gotta keep at it I think otherwise I'll try with Batrider ships.

Holy shitballs, just had my dream run of Battle Bakraid completely out of the blue, chaining the Cloud midbosses, getting over 64 million (about half the wr, counterstops the original arcade release) and reaching all the way to the last boss.
Got the replay so I'll try to capture this sucker soon.

Decided to take a break from Muchi Muchi Pork 1.00 in favor of some 1.01 play since I was getting annoyed by the whole death in first loop = restart thing(farthest I've gotten before dying was near the end of stage 4 though with the route I'm using I could loop it, and I'm crap at the loop patterns as well from what I've tried of them).



Muchi Muchi Pork version 1.01 2-All with Rafute. Was a bit more relaxing since derps in either loop aren't as punishing, though it took several tries(consistently 1-Alling 1.01 due to that practice is nice) today for me to keep up my resources during the loop. Not that the end of it is that relaxing because at that point I was obviously nervous I'd screw it up somehow.
