In fact he is not late. PA sold the first bunch of preorders time ago and they closed them, but I guess that they might have more of them.
I really hope this port turns out well. It is a shame it won't have any graphical imrovement like Futari, DS or Espgaluda II.

It would be nice to have a hi-res/HD mode, but I just want to play the dame game already, the wait has been way too long.

Did anyone catch that live streaming of Oshiete! IKD-san! on niconico regarding Ketsui EX? They did a side-by-side comparison of the PCB vs. the 360 version. There might be a really slight imperfection on the 360 port, as both sides started at the same time, but the first boss' warning screen appeared on the 360 ver. about 0.5-1 sec before the PCB did.

Thanks for the info.
It would be fun to see this comparison. :)
Had no idea that it was shown.

Did they send the same controller input to both screens, or was it two separate playthroughs? And can you still watch this anywhere?

Probably just removed a bit of slowdown here and there on the port.

So the big question on everybodies lips - is the eventual release of this game at retail going to see PCB prices fall? What's the situation been with Deathsmiles/Futari/ESPGaluda PCB prices since the retail releases arrived?

Little impact thus far. Not a lot of people selling, to be honest.

I did notice more than usual Ketsui boards being sold (on this forum) last year. Don't know if that was panic selling or just people being broke due to the current economic climate though.

Chances are it will go up. As more people get interested in the game more will be interested in the PCB and it's not like they're going to re issue a bunch of PGM PCBs.

Also look at Guwange... Playable for free in MAME but the board just keeps increasing in price. DOJ BL also has a pretty good PS2 port but that is still one expensive PCB.

DOJ was ported to the ps2, but not black label, that was on the 360.

Oh darn, now this version cannot be accurately speed-ran. Although, it could make it quite different if enemies also begin appearing sooner than normally, harder that is to say. If Ikeda actually had grievances about the port in that video, that's another story. Subs would be good.

I don't think the ports have had a significant impact. It's been a little tougher to sell any expensive boards lately, port or not.

were both pcb and port were being played simultaneously with the same controller??
if not then the midboss would explain why one got to the boss slightly behind the other.a split second difference in lock on speed blah blah

Maybe because people are settling for the (generally excellent) ports instead? If demand for higher-priced PCBs falls, then the only way to shift those PCBs will be to reduce the prices.

IIRC, the stage 1 midboss doesn't hinder forward movement (quicker stage run), so this only applies to stages 2, 4 and 5. So my bet is on removed slowdown. *watches video instead*

If the two players are not doing exactly the same thing at the same time, then the slowdown may differ between each. Slowdown isn't an absolute constant - it varies depending on all sorts of variables. If you put two PCBs next to each other and the players do something slightly diferent on each, then they would probably go out of sync too.

Most of the difference comes from the midboss explosion. That's the most noticeable slowdown in stage 1 and it's nonexistent in the port.

It would be nice to see comparisons of the 2nd loop where slowdown is a little more common.

I'm secretly hoping Ketsui sucks

that way I don't break the bank importing a 360 to play it.
