Lol, maybe I'm glad I missed out on that bit. Though some people are just really un-pc but mean no harm. He could have just meant that "Japanese people don't seem to like pinball", but phrased it like a retired colonel.

Doesn't sound derogatory to me.

White people haven't got the right brains for playing shmups, it's a pain in the ass.

CHI, JDE and I cleared the easy route - the one we were playing Tuesday - this evening. We couldn't put in our score though, even though we'd been able to on a previous credit where we did nothing different (except failing to beat it). I still don't understand what's up with that.

Then we tried going down instead of up for the second stage and it's quite a big jump in difficulty. It's worth it though because the boss is a turtle that shoots direction changing lasers.

Isn't JDE a nice lad!?

I honestly had no idea anyone else was 'flipping a bird'. Bloody excellent!

Balls! I chose to spend last night (which I had free on STGT). I should have joined you guys!

When this STGT thing is over, or if there's a week when the game is one I think is rubbish, I'll have to put the time in with Darius properly.

Seems from the video Chi posted that the boss man fixed the sound settings.

You're the most privileged guys in the Western World. I hope you realise this.
EDIT:- Most privileged in the Western Spiral Arm.
The backgrounds on ST1 are completely Border Down ST3 and the lasers are Border Down too.
I LOVE the Bass as the Bosses approach :!:

You guys need to learn when to laser on that Boss you died on.

Good luck with Galuda II. If you play it like the first game it's... just like the first game with different stages!
Played for score it's nuts - in a good way, just not my thing at all. The arrange modes are garbage (sorry).

I should be down tomorrow.

Well, if it's just you and I Dan76, we'll keep it downstairs away from that horrid novelty machine upstairs (the one I bloody love).

Is the gameplay difficulty considerably harder ie; more bullet hell when playing four-player mode?

We can't quite work it out. I've not noticed a difference in bullet density, speed or ferosity, but it seems enemies might be more resilient to damage in four player mode. The bosses, however, seem the same regardless of player count.

We had a lot of fun last night exploring Chronicle mode, and tackling one player.

I was worried the first time I played this that after the novelty of the massive cab had worn off, it would be a bit lacking in substance. That doesn't seem the case, however, and there's loads to do. I'm gagging to sink hours into this...

Anyone going to the arcade tomorrow?

I'm travelling around Europe with my family and thursday is my last day at London. I got the afternoon free so I'm giving the famous Casino Arcade a visit. If you see a guy with a gray shirt and shoes playing shmups, that's probably me. Feel free to say hello.

Looking forward to play Tatsujin Oh on a cab.

Damn - I'm not about tonight, and I'm afraid Tatsujin Oh is long gone. Is it still in the OP of this thread?

Still, some of the Casino Crew should be there (Cave games in the basement - Darius Burst: Another Chronicle on the ground floor)

Hey guys, it was nice to know the place. Spent almost the entire day there and wish I could've stayed some more. Got to play Darius (the cab is beyond awesome), DOJ, Blazblue (someone put a pound in there and left - 3 free credits for me) and a whole bunch of credits of Mushi. It was really nice to play all those games in a real cab, I'll never get to play them in my country.

On my way out I ran into JDE, but unfortunately I needed to leave and couldn't talk much to him. I think I saw Mills too but I wasn't sure if it was him. He was wearing a suit and played Progear and SF4. He also watched me mash the hell out of Blazblue.

Overall I had a great time there, too bad I couldn't meet the rest of the Casino Crew. Maybe next time.
