At first try I wasn't really a fan, but now I'm somewhat enjoying Yuengling's Summer Wheat. I still think it's a bit too... sweet? not sure what to describe the particular twist as, but it's got a bit too much of it

. Don't feel bad getting a bit tipsy on it though!

I had Lolita a few months ago (wow, it's been that long?), and it was quite good and interesting. I'll have to check out the rest of those.

Figured out what I don't like about the Summer Wheat. Bananas. Bananas are the one thing you don't mess around with. Too strong and it ruins whatever it's in.

I have yet to try Yeungling's version, but banana flavors are kind of a hallmark of the style. Some are more banana-y than others though and can be pretty off putting, so I can understand where you're coming from. That's basically the reason why my old lady won't drink hefes.

Yeah, it took me a bit to figure out what was unappealing, and it's just got too strong of a banana taste and that's also making it a bit too sweet. I'm normally a fair fan of hefes so I was a bit disappointed when I didn't quite enjoy it.

Turning into an old man. I was at Monkish last night (Torrance, CA) and found myself getting considerably buzzed off my second flight (4 tasters per flight.) That said, beers range from 7-10%, and I had a goblet of some 11% belgian imperial stout, but still....

My favorite of the lot was actually a petite saison that came in at only 3.9% Shows where my tastes have gone.

I got drunk for the first time in about 12 years last night. Bad idea.
I knew there was a reason I stopped drinking (bad stomach).
I was vomiting for hours, and I slept at a gas station for like 4 hours alone.

If you can track down BCS then more power to you. If you cannot, I've discovered a lesser but still quite good approximation. At least it's the next best thing I can actually pick up whenever I want. It's Dragon's Milk from New Holland.
