Just received mine and running a few tests. I can only see 1 switch on there for Csync on/off
Just to confirm, which way is for the sync regeneration on or off? Or is it always on ?

CSYNC is the sync regeneration, if it's "CSYNC" it's active. If it's "OFF" it's just composite forwarding.
What's everyone using for a stereo switch for their left over systems that aren't covered by gscart or gcomp? For example those few stubborn systems like cdi450 (s video)ect or the extra Sega cd stereo? Any slick ways around this? I'll have 8 which includes stereo from gscart and gcomp lol and don't really want a huge rack extron thing but if that's only choice guess I will.
Just as a side note - can certain people remember that this tends to be a place for intelligent conversation where people tend to be respectful and sincere - and are not in the habit of lowering the tone by whinging and badgering people. This is the way it's been for a long time and it would be great to keep it that way.
Mine arrived yesterday and I’m pleased to report it works flawlessly. Have to disable sync regeneration for my Master System but I can’t see any difference with it on or off on any source so I just leave it off anyway.

To my knowledge the only video signals not covered by the gscartsw are RF, component and RGsB. All other signals pipe their sync signal through pin 20 (S-Video, Composite, RGB) so the gscart will switch. You can buy S-Video to SCART adapter which include stereo input jacks. For RGsB you can use an Extron to convert it to RGBs. Piping component through the gscart is not really necessary. As for the SegaCD I think you just need the correct cable & cable setup and it will work like a plain Genesis (see http://retrorgb.com/segacd.html).

I have been using the RCA switch box that I was using before switching to the gscart. It requires manual switching but it has been getting the job done in the meantime.

1 very happy customer
Thanks so much for putting in the effort to build them for us.
Now all I need is a DC Toro vga box :/
Is the DC Toro confirmed to work/be safe with the gscartsw lite?

I use the Pelican System Selector Pro, which I've had since it came out back in the early 2000s. It has 8 inputs (for Component, S-Video, Composite and RCA Audio) and is a powered switch.
Hey superg, how can I get on the pre-order list for the gscartsw_lite? Just got my first PVM today and I plan on modding all of my retro consoles immediately. Thanks!
Got my swtich a couple weeks ago but only just got all the cables I needed to hook everything up. So far everything works perfectly! (one output going to a Sony PVM, the other to an ossc).
Just wanted to say that I got my three units a few months ago and they have really helped organize my setup and made my overall retro gaming experience better. I love the product , but I am already running out of inputs, who knew 24 scart inputs wouldn't be sufficient lol. I am curious when I should be looking for another Pre-Order window to open up? I would also like to get a component switch and would also like to know roughly when that window would be open? I am not looking for exact dates, just rough estimates. Anyway, great product and I am super pleased with the results.
SuperG, did you have any experience in shipping to Italy?
I purchased an item in the USA recently sent with USPS First-Class Package International Service but its tracking ended when item left US for final destination because this kind of shipment, that has the code UA ate the beginning and US at the end is not tracked outside US and it arrived to my home one month later but without me to know its situation.
I wished to know if yours is the same shipping modality or if you had different experience.
It should be useful for me to know in order to see what situation i will face when i will order my GscartSW Lite as soon as you will reopen orders for it because i really need one "as the bread", as we say where i live
Thanks

Based on my experience Italian tracking somehow doesn't always work. USPS tracking shows everything but once the package left the US it's the responsibility of destination country.
Running a full set of RetrogamingCables Packapunch scart cables through my switch. One outputting to my Sony Trinitron, the other to the OSSC. Perfect setup imo.
Only thing that still doesn't seem to work is the RGB-PI through this switch but I've got all real hardware anyway.
I dug back into the Assmembler thread and saw someone else had an issue with their RGB PCE not being detected-- now it's happening to me. I verified the cable is fine by checking with my manual Hama switcher. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm going to try to PM the original user too but he hasn't signed into assembler for a year.
EDIT: I am reading port 8 works, and I tried both of the ports at the far left and far right to make sure I wasn't misidentifying port 8. Nothing. Is this something that no longer works on the Lite switcher? Or EXT might be what I have to use for this to work?

Afaik the original gscartsw would default to port 8 when it didn't detect a sync input, this is why it worked with RGsB from the PS2 (i.e. no discrete sync signal). This function does not work for the PS2 in the Lite switcher, so I assume it will not solve your issue either.

Damn. That was what I was gathering too. I had planned on playing around with RGsB on PS2 too, this is kind of a bummer. I guess I gotta read into how to use the Ext header or how to boost the PCE sync (not sure if that's even possible) along with doing the new Csync mode for PS2
G, do you have any instructions for how Ext works, for someone like me who is a beginner? Can you do two switches on the same switcher and pick two different inputs to prioritize? Press the switch when you want to use it. Do you wire the # on the EXT header to any of the switches or is it literally just wiring something to the EXT itself? I guess no one has done it before according to you so there's probably not example pictures out there. I just want to judge if this is within my abilities or if I should send it off to someone to get help from

EXT header is not going to help with that. It was created primarily for DIY boards where you want to query enabled input and setting the input starting from gscartsw_lite. Properly mod your PCE and PS2 and problem solved. Also EXT is not a simple "short two points" solution, it will require a proper circuit and logic. And lastly you can easily damage the switch by improperly using it.
FriendofSonic wrote:Thank you for the feedback on the Ext function. To be fair, when my PCE was modded, it was as properly done as the community knew how to do back then.
So why it doesn't work then?
PCE is more problematic console, but there are at least several good working mods. In this topic there was somebody who used a modern board like an old "Turbo Booster", and it worked well, forgot the name.
Having a situation with a customer from Chile. I dropped off his unit on November 3, 18 days passed since, it tracks fine and ATM status is "The item is currently in transit to the destination as of November 6, 2017 at 9:17 am". Meanwhile the customer is sending me mail after mail that he still didn't get his item and he wants me to reship and according to him, it will be lost if I haven't specified his phone number. This is the second time I'm having an issue after enabling the country per user request and then having a problem with that user. Feel like I'm being scammed.
naz wrote:Shipping is messed up for my country (Chile), it charges me 9,999 USD. Could you please look into it??

Chile is disabled. Is it safe to ship there?
Sure it's safe! it takes forever to arrived (from my capital to my city, it arrives fast to the country), but post office has never "lost" a packege (they are just slow).
Consider the shipping under my responsability (no complains if something happens, is out of your hands after all).
Best regards!
Well, if it this person then I would say it is out of your hands.
