Haha, definitely not official. Here's the source. I just added a rose to "Rosa's" hair and made "Windia's" hair red. I tried adding some wings but it looked too silly.

Haha, great work. I really thought this was some kind of DS otaku picture. It's not funny anymore without your added stuff.

Still hot though. But yeah, when I saw it I instantly thought of Deathsmiles, it just needed a few touches.

Could someone tell me what are all those different playing Options?

I see there is Ver1.1, Ver Xbox 360, MBL Arcade, MBL Xbox360 and something that just says "Arcade" but looks like a Genesis game. What are all those things and which one of those am I supposed to play? Also I downloaded the DLC Add-On for 1,200 microsoft ponts, but have no idea what it is or what it does other then "Lv 999". Also each stages you can choose amongst 3 different options, obviously it is for harder difficulties, the "999" option one seem to be for the hardest difficulty but for what purpose? Also, is it just me or do you have infinte continues in this game?

Thank you.

Arcade and 360 refer to graphical options. "Arcade" is the original arcade graphics, "360" is the updated graphics. Other than that the gameplay is the same (I think).

Version 1.1 has extra control features. You can control your familiar by holding down a button, which is useful for absorbing suicide bullets. Using lock-on doesn't drain your meter anymore. Also the scoring is redone, with some huge multiplyers once you build them up; watch some replays on the leaderboards and you'll figure it out.

MBL has an extra playable character and an extra playable stage (bonus level after you complete the first six, just don't mash buttons during the cutscene or you may accidently skip it). Also there are some gameplay tweaks. The tree boss fight is probably the most notable.

I don't have MBL and have played the Extra stage before. Unless you're referring to something else.

There's another extra stage. So after the first six stages, you can choose between final, extra 1, and extra 2. The original extra stage has cliffs and caves with the 2-dragon boss, while the new extra stage has an ice theme with Burger King as a boss.

Is it normal that I seem to have infinite continues though? And that is so much version to play, which one if the "real" version?

The arcade game has infinite continues as most arcade games do, why would you suppose it wasn't normal for its port?

I can't say that I've ever thought of infinite continues as abnormal in an arcade-style shmup. Anyone familiar with how the scoring system works is not going to use them anyway.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "real version". If you're worried about arcade authenticity, 1.1 mode wasn't released in arcades (that I'm aware of).

You have no choice BUT the use them, because there is no option to turn off infinite continues.

I think I will play the game in MBL Xbox 360 Version mode, thanks.

Ikaruga, Gradius V, R-Type Dela, DonPachi Black Label Extra, Einhander, Thunder Force V etc... Don't have infinite continues, it seems the infinite continues thing seem to be mostly a Cave thing. It was the same with Mushihimesama 1 on PS2, I kept dying and dying but I never was game over because there was infinite continues, well that was until I beated the game like 20 minutes later...

Ah, I see… That's a rather bad case indeed. The game is too easy because it just won't game over no matter what you do.

My friend. Leave the start button alone when you've game overed and watch the magic ensue.

YES! For example in Xyanide (Xbox game shmup) you only had a set amount of continues and had to go through the whole 5-6 levels with those specific amounts of continues, obviously you had to know the Boss attacks and average patterns of the levels to beat the game as this is impossible on your first playthrough.

Unlike with Death Smiles (and Wolf Fang from Data East on PS1) were you die endlessly but no matter what you do or how many times you die, you are still forced to go through the levels and shoot and shoot and it can't stop until you beat the game, WHY??! WOE IS ME!!!
