Wow, that looks very interesting. Any other titles making a PSP a console worth picking up (for cabinet use)?

Dingsbums,

Do you have any other info on how that PSP mod works? I'm just curious how you got the controls and video to the Astro City. I'm assuming some device like viletim's, but I'm not sure how the controls and video are split.

@ Emphatic
I would say:
Goku Makaimura
Ikuze! Gen-San: Yuuyake Daiku Monogatari
Salamander Collection (XEXEX)
Prinny
Prinny 2
Sengoku Ace Episode 3 (Yes - I like that game  )

Since there are a few people who want to know how to get a PSP to a Astro City - here is a little rundown :)

Easy part - Video and Audio
You need a PSP with Component Output (2000/3000 series), a Multisync Screen in your Cab and a Lenkeng LKV 7000 (WATCH OUT - THE LKV 8000 is a HDMI model - you want a VGA model = LKV 7000)
It looks like this:
Image

The great thing about the LKV 7000 is the zoom function - you press one button and you have fullscreen video :) .

Now connect your PSP to the LKV 7000 (Component and Audio), set the LKV 7000 to 640x480, connect the VGA cable to your Multisync and set the PSP to External Display - and bamm - you should now have picture and sound :D .

Hard part - Controls
First thing - you need the pinouts from your PSP.
Here they are (for the PSP 2000 - sorry I don't have them for the 3000 series / not the best quality but you can figure it out  ):
Image
Image
Image

WARNING - YOU ONLY SHOULD DO THIS WHEN YOU ARE GOOD AT SOLDERING. ON MY FIRST TRY (YES THE FIRST TIME I TRIED IT MYSELF = BIG MISTAKE :) ) I DESTROYED MY PSP :( . THE SOLDER POINTS INSIDE THE PSP ARE EXTREMELY SMALL.
You have to open your PSP to solder cables on the pins you need (on mine I used: Ground, the 4 directions, the 4 front buttons, L+R and Start) and the other ends of the cables on a connector of your choice (with a pinout that fits your Control Panel, Arcade Stick, ect.).
Be aware that you don't really have much choice where to put the connector (no free space inside a PSP) - so Moosmann installed the connector in the Akku cover. This means of course I can't use my PSP with the Battery Pack anymore - power supply only (but I don't really care since I play my PSP only at home anyway).

Wow, that's a bitchin' PSP to Jamma setup, dingsbums. I've only got a PSP-1001 variant (which means no Component Video output whatsoever). Sound like it's time to pick up either an PSP-2000 or PSP-3000 and get it hooked up to a candy cab. Pretty slick PSP mod indeed!

There's allot of people out there that owe these guys some monies.
I've got a copy of Dialhex which is a fairly straightforward puzzler that's reasonably fun, but gets really shallow after a while.

Got this lovely SNES game in the mail today:

Got a few rounds in before heading off to work, seems great so far. Got R-Type III from another seller at the same time, but apparently the shipping label on the package they sent me got torn off except for their address, so they had it returned to them, and they reshipped it yesterday

If you go up to the Vintage Stock on Kansas, they had R-Type III in their glass shelf for $20 as of about two days ago. Saw it there right after I bought the cart on eBay

Found this at a local game store. They usually price bad, and carry a lot of crap

whats funny is, they had a loose sgb player behind the glass for $14.99, and this was out on the shelf for $9.99. Its complete, and in pretty good condition

Vapor trail was $5, and well worth it.

Finally downloaded EyeCreate on my PS3 and took relatively good snapshots of my recent purchases. Watch:

(yeah, my T-shirt looks like shit, and I was forced to hold this stuff rather than just lay it on table - the problem was that there were no free tables around  )

This one actually barely fits 'just bought' criteria (I bought it aeons ago at the very dawn of my gamership), but anyway I want to show it: the official Russian release of Resident Evil 2!
As a bonus it includes the original, untranslated Resident Evil 1. God bless you, Akella

this would be cool for Ultimate Ghost's N Goblins. I used to have it for PSP. It's freakishly hard, but it wouldn't be G'NG if it wasn't.

Just a followup, I did finally get my cart today. Had some sticker residue, but that's what Goo Gone is for. One thing that kinda bugged me was that the rear label on the cart is completely gone. No mention of this in the description or in pics (and of course I never thought to ask about that). Not a humongous deal, but you really think that they would put that in their description

Best Buy has a sale going on Yakuza 4 ($40), so I picked that up along with the Nausicaa blu ray. I haven't checked out either yet, so I can't comment on the awesomeness, but it still felt like a pretty satisfying purchase.

Yay! I love this little bugger!

And actually, I needed it... I was asked to record some narrations regularly for a german news-channel on youtube.

My gaming-monster rig was so loud, you could always hear the fans etc. on the recordings... I needed a cheap solution to this, and instead of replacing the fans, graphic card (GTX 470... it IS loud...) buying some noise-canceling stuff etc., I opted for this little baby.

And the atom 1,66 gHz is even fast enough for MAME. EspRaDe runs perfectly, I'm looking forward testing Espgaluda and DDP DOJ - if they run normally, I'm in gamers heaven, because.... I could easily hook up the netbook on my blast city cab... (Graphix through VGA, Controlls via a Xbox360 hacked pad (already have this in use for my xbox in the cab) and sound via additional 2.1 speakers in the cab...
