Organized from a machine translation of Ibara @ SegaDirect:

Arcade mode still supports 2P.

Practice mode allows the player to practice from the beginning of the stage or from the boss (like in the Mushihimesama PS2 port). There is a rank gauge displayed in this mode. No 2P practice.

Arrange mode also has the rank gauge and no 2P limitation. Option type can be changed at will (presumably with a single button like the Mushihimesama Arrange mode shot-change). There is a shot button that works in the traditional Cave style (stronger shot and slower movement when held) and a full-auto button.
No continues allowed.

Gallery is available from the start, like Mushihimesama PS2.

Anyone looking to preorder this game from Yesasia.com should know it is erroneously listed as "ishoubi". Here is the link if you want to preorder it from them (or simply type ishoubi in their search bar):

http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx/p ... ion-games/

Don't worry, it's Ibara alright. :D

Thanks! I was wondering why it wasn't showing up yet on yesasia. How do you know this is the game (can you read the Kanji below?) Being that its a picture and not text, I can't translate it. :?

I see they also sell dreamcast imports, but I can't find Radilgy / Radirgy / Rajirugi, or Under Defeat.

Totally derailing the topic, is there any reason to prefer yesasia over play-asia? I see that the prices tend to be better by a few dollars. Is there a catch, like crappy customer service or shipping charges of doom? How do they declare packages for customs?

So far, I've only ordered once from them (for Homura). Shipping is free, and it came exactly one week from the supposed ship date. Not sure if Canada is included in the free shipping part. :?

I've ordered from both many times, and never had a problem with either. Recently I got my J-PS2 from Yesasia, and it only took a week to get it to me from Hong Kong, via free shipping(which was way ahead of the estimated delivery time frame thing). They declared it as a DVD player, HKD 300 bucks.

I also contacted Yesasia's customer service to find out what courier they used, and they were extremly helpful. With Yesasia, anything over 40 USD you can choose the free shipping route.

Here is the evidence: The Japanese text below describes a "Cave shooting game"; The website link on the page is to Cave's Ibara page; The logo on the Yesasia page is Ibara's; It's being released by Taito on 2/23; "Ishoubi" is an alternate reading of the characters used for "Ibara". All these things lead me to believe this is, without a doubt, Ibara. :D

As for Dreamcast imports, I haven't been able to find Rajirugi or Under Defeat there yet either. Will let you know if I do.

Well, if they're gashopon-sized, I don't see why the CD wouldn't come with all 6.

That's what I was thinking. And the OST hopefully will come with the whole set of figures (no way I'm trawling YAJ for all those individually) ^_-

Doesn't say anything about the release date though. February, before the PS2 game is released, maybe?

Done & Done :)

I can already hear the crystal-clear guitar riff in "Show Time" and "Guardian Angel" :D

It seems pretty safe to assume that they'd release it alongside the PS2 port, so mid-to-late February.

According to GaijinPunch's post here, it is speculated for release at the end of January. Waiting for a more concrete release date though.

Cocoebiz continues to make money from me (I don't mind spending it, of course) ^_^

That is nice, very arty. I love the melodramatic "tragic" poses and facial expressions of the girls. I remember being jealous when someone who bought the PCB had this pic as one of the flyer/marquee art pack ins.

My god why!? The PCB is 15khz, and this is supposed to be an arcade port. Its bad enough Taito is going to upscale and filter the image for interlaced TVs.

I am sooooo glad I have never fully absorbed the difference between scanlines, conversion, ect. I'm glad I am just as happy playing shooters on my RCA stereo TV as I am on my JAMMA rig 'n amiga monitor. Heck, sometimes I hook the TV up to the JAMMA rig. shrugs

You should see that image as a B1 size poster. The thing is amazing in huge format. It's a shame I cannot find anywhere to make a frame for it ;_; (That and my Great Mahou B1 poster...)

I think Ord's review of Ibara has that artwork without logos and stuff, in 768x1024-ish size. It's not high-res enough to make a poster print from, but it makes nice desktop wallpaper ^_^

Because this won't be played in a cab, it will be played on my PS2 hooked up to a HD projector (Sanyo PLV-Z4) on a 106 inch Da-lite CinemaContour screen.

Interlaced will look cruddy, should I wish it to look less just so it can be accurate?

I greatly enjoy Ikarua and the way that it looks in my dedicated theater room. I'd just like to enjoy the look of other shooters as much on this screen.
