No joke. Maybe easy mode loops 4ever? Oh, and I got the flying fortress stage on loop 3 or something, but not before that.

I just tested the PC ver now and it works as intended. What's going on!?!
Patch will be out shortly after after Twin Tiger Burst is released. :twisted:

If this is part of the reason for this happening, I no-missed (used one bomb) the two first loops.

More feedback:

* Some bosses doesn't even get off any shots when you're fully powered up and using laser. In fact, most enemies feel like popcorn with that weapon, which doesn't sit right with me.

Hit point chart:
Euroshmup<-----------Toaplan-----CAVE-->Twin Tiger shark using green weapon

* The blue weapon on the other hand is too underpowered on bosses, but feels really good on stages' mid-sized enemies.

* The difficulty setting wasn't saved when I had exited the game and played it again even though the rotate and button assignment were, I guess this is by choice (although I did use my Japanese account instead for my second go...)?

* I miss enemies shooting first - in most Toaplan games, they fire at you the moment they enter the screen - even in easy modes

^^Please consider these for a patch, but don't rush it out. I will try to get some time to play it further during the week, it's a really fun game so far, and go for a HARD clear.

How do I handle the balance thing etc, do I do a "Ex Mode" in there with the changes or just change it? Thinking about the scoreboard difference issue.

Was thinking about doing a Kai version (changing water color to red but keeping the shadows on the water blue), so I might as well add the bug fixes to that version. But I guess you just talked me out of it... :wink:

Yeah, no modes, please.

You could have easy as default, and add a difficulty selection when a new credit starts. However, if the difficulty setting is changed to hard in the options, then this in-game selection is removed. This way, noobs can play EASY mode until they feel ready then try HARD. Shmups fans can turn HARD on and not ever see the difficulty selection.

Because of the possibility of a great game getting done is better than rushing in new stuff? You could tweak the colours on the second loop though to hint towards a new mode, and release a tweaked Kai version later? ;)

Oh lol I thought the continued looping was some sort of easter egg.

I really wouldn't mind having the whole play area visible when playing non-tated since it only uses like 20% of my TV area, but I assume the part where I crash into a plane that was hidden by the border and die is part of the retro experience.

And yeah what people have said about the green weapon, I one-lifed the first loop on hard on pretty much the first try with it (after a run to 4-4 on Easy yesterday). It's rarely I call a shmup too easy, but...

Great game either way! :D

Actually, 4-x is just the third loop... you beat the first loop, then you get to 2-5, and the stage after that which you'd expect to be 2-6 is actually 3-6. Was that numbering not intentional either, then?

And then beating 3-6 takes you to 4-1.

Ah, thanks!
It was supposed to be 1-1 -> 1-5 then 2-1 -> 2-6 and ending.
So the jump from 2-5 to 3-6 explains why it's not ending...but I can't reproduce it. Which means I've totally messed up before and after the release, somehow.

Fantastic game! :mrgreen: So many lovely little touches, I couldn't hit that donate button fast enough.

I experienced a weird bug on the OUYA version where all stage music after level 1 wouldn't play; but I haven't been able to reproduce it yet. :/ Also, the explosions seem quite muffled when there's more than more playing. I've heard that happen on more than a few games on the system, though.

Yes, the music issue happens every now and then. Restarting the system (unplug the power cord) and you're fine for a couple of games...kind of.

I just remembered something, the Helper planes only appear in two's after a while (maybe in loop 3?), aren't they supposed to be five or six? Or is this because of the fact that there are too many loops?

Just a silly ide i had if you are planing to do "Difficulty: Insane".
It would be kinda funny if the title screen (logo that says twin t.s.) changed to japanese if you choose insane, nice nod to that japanses roms that are sometimes harder :D
