Thanks for going into further detail about it, I only know the general gist of empty lock but at the same time didn't really have the time to sit there and mutter it all through the Ketsui episode, only focused on making sure the main points were covered. After all empty lock is the LAST thing anyone should focus on, cause what's the point of doing empty lock if you can't get through 1/2 the 1st loop without deaths?

Dodonpachi Saidaioujou is planned for next weekend (Ep #43). However, this weekend, I need a quick replacement (woo, short time planning again! >.<)

I'm thinking of covering P-47 Aces this weekend because I know the game. If anyone would like to come on to talk about it please PM me or whatever. But it should be a short one (Less than an hour.)

So..

Current episode: #42: P-47 Aces
Scheduled for Sunday, November 17th @ 12:30pm CST.

Yes indeed. Here ya go. Wasn't very proud of audio mixing on this one. Well, I forgot to turn off my boost so I'm loud, thankfully I do most of the talking but... sorry about that.

I'll get in the habit of posting the time in multiple time zones. Apologies.
I'll give you this though, the stream will start in roughly 2 hours from this posting.

Today's episode on Dodonpachi Saidaioujou is postponed tentatively to this time next Sunday. We have a family matter to attend to. Consider this a break week unless I think of something to replace #43 through-out the week.

The situation isn't dire but care was needed for our streamer Soda. Just to clear things up a bit.
We will in fact do the episode next weekend.

The episode DDP SDOJ. Pleased with this one pretty wholly. Especially Ratikal's "moment".

I thought Jaimers was Dutch, but by his weird accent I'm now very confused, and start thinking he is half German / half Irish

Nice show, will look at 360 mode tonight :)

Great episode, but one question, I saw a run where they used the stars to do the hy-hy-hyper trick as early as stage 2-3, was this the TAS run jaimers was talking about?

Not necessarily. The recharge can be done any time there's a bullet canceling enemy, such as midbosses. It's fairly easy to do in stage one, but of course the number of bullets is smaller so you may only get one or two hypers in earlier stages.

IIRC stages 3 and 5 are the only two with non-midboss enemies that cancel, which is why the trick is primarily associated with those stages.

You can do some recharges on the earlier stages for some more score but optimally you just want to hold off on that until stage 5 to keep the rank at zero.
The stage 1 and 2 recharges aren't worth anything to bother with. Stage 3 has a pretty nice score boost on the midboss and by pointblanking the following turret but you're going to have to bomb a few times to get the rank low again which kinda defeats the purpose.

The TAS video that was mentioned on the show is this one., which is a TAS of someone triggering the overflow bug on stage 3. Not really sure how implementable that is in an actual run for obvious reasons and not to mention that this was done on the easy difficulty setting of the game.

European accents are pretty great. Dutch and German are almost the same anyway.

Hey guys I've been seriously slacking on getting episodes arranged. However, there are many games that have been suggested for the show.

Some games that I think would be good to cover soon are Armed Police Batrider (re-do episode), Battle Bakraid, Hitogata Happa, Caravan episode. Here is the current list of prospective episodes / games:

Mars Matrix, Caravan episode, Something milestone, Doujins, Akai Katana, Sengoku Blade, Dimahoo (Sorcer Striker, Grand Prix), Homura, Crimzon Clover, Outzone, Battle Bakraid, Hitogata Happa, Dangun Feveron, Batsugun, Armed Police Batrider re-do.

I think Batrider would be a good game for the 1 year anniversary of the show, to revisit that one.

Nothing is set down this weekend yet but I'm figuring it out.
