You can get some pretty gnarly bass tones out of it with a bit of tweaking and creative sampling. Also, it's fun to run external audio through it, as you can use the LFO to add some pretty interesting rhythmic movement to stuff, almost like a delay pedal. Only downside with it is the noise levels, which can be pretty bad, especially for recording.louisg wrote:Oh I totally forgot about the M01! I'll have to look into that. I just got a Korg Monotron, the $60 analog synth that fits in your pocket It's awesome (but limited). The best thing about it could be the aux input which lets you filter any sound you want.dcharlie wrote:I'm sure this is old new to everyone but me, but i decided to snag the Korg M01 DS thing.
Good GOD it's a mini marvel!
I managed to throw this up in about 10 minutes on the train (hardly a master piece and no structure, but hey)
Sorry it's a vid ... with nothing happening in it, but you can get some idea for the sound

I'm interested to try out the monotribe, but I will probably wait and try and get one used after the intial rush of people buy it and realize it doesn't make the music for you and flip them on craigslist.
Would have been nice if it had midi, but with its pulse sync it won't be to hard to sync up to other stuff with a bit of trickery.
