I doubt it. It didn't sell that well and IMHO, DDP is probably what introduced most of the west to Cave. This game is also going shift stock I recon too. At least in the shmup fan base. There's also the iPhone port which is already translated and has sold very well.

A lot more? Let's check.

As of September, 2010, worldwide X360 sales are reported as 44.6 million units. This is the graph for iPhones, showing the total of 73+ million. Even if you subtract the pre-3GS figures it's still over 52 million, at least 40 of which I expect to be 3GS and above. Add to that 7.5 million iPads. Combined iPod Touch sales are reported as 45+ million units, let's assume at least 30 million are 3rd gen and above. Combined, around 77 million. Discount 10 million to be perfectly safe and you still get 67 million DFK-capable devices, which is exactly 1.5 the times of Xboxes sold, and I'm having suspicions that iDevices are getting their equivalents of RRoD remotely as often.

So probably not a lot more, if at all.

So, what are the exact covers for both the standard and LE release? I keep seeing multiple ones and can't seem to find the right link.

If Famitsu360's sales numbers are to be believed, it was Cave's second-best selling 360 port, behind the original Deathsmiles.

I checked out the BL version of this game(youtube), and wow is that music awesome. It's SO much better than 1.5's(except for the boss themes).

Do you guys think that Cave will continue the trend and release BL? I mean, it would be odd if they didn't. Hell, DDP is their biggest franchise too, so it would be extra odd.

I'm still confused for the actual cover art...if you click 'images' on the standard release it comes up with like 3 different covers. I NEED TO KNOW THESE THINGS.

You act as if more than 25% of people who own newer Apple devices actually understand how to use them and play games on them, letalone play shmups on them. Especially shmups with Japanese-ass names like "DoDonPachi." Most people I see with iPhones and iPads have no idea how to truly use them they just fumble through the UI to try to find something they want.

And obviously more than 25% of Xbox 360 users know and/or care about Dondonpunchee Whatever-tsu and shmups in general (and you could slash that number further in two if you were to separate NTSC-U consoles from PAL — unless Aksys is somehow going to release this in Europe as well). You act like you were a contrarian for the sake of being contrarian, making statistics up on the spot to disprove a point I didn't even make.

Aksys will not be doing anything in PAL, Rising Star Games have the rights to CAVE's games in PAL they just recently signed a partnership.

Probably, since its, you know, a gaming console and not a telephone/portable computer.

Hey Elixir, great thread!

Do you know of any info regarding teleka offerings on Messe Sanoh, Sofmap, etc. for the DFK release and if so how many different versions will be available?

Damn, Messe Sanoh's card it is the best of the three IMO. What reminds me off it's that amiami didn't get any exclusive card just like they got with DS2X and some other more.

Amiami had one for galudaII, and some other 360 games, mostly of the visual novel genre, but I believe E2 was the only shmup they did the phone card deal with.

Out of curiosity, is there a reason why the only way I can ever find a preorder item at NCSX is on this forum, but never by looking around their website? Searching for the game turns up nothing (even just dodonpachi turns up only the older ones), clicking on the "Preorder" link under 360 turns up nothing. Do they just not like doing preorders or something? Or is there a secret-knock to get to the secret preorder page?
