Stage 5 was ugly but too ugly I lose totaly my mind after lose first life trying pick that bee and could not recover the whole rest run. 2-2 credit feed for fun don't watch that.

I'm trying to watch your inp with shmupmame 2.2 but it says it's not valid as an input file. Did you record with a different emulator ?

Works fine for me, that was an awesome run, up to your first death on stage 5.

Second loop is very scary x_x

This is my result of a whole day of practice on stages 4 and 5 on MAME.

Still doesn't work for me, no idea what's wrong with ShmupMAME 2.2 on this particular computer, it's not working well.

It doesn't work for me too, but if I try to playback the input with regular mame instead of lagless it works but for some reason 3rd strike chooses vanilla doj instead of BL, and the results are hilarious xD.
I think this is the price we have to pay to play with something so new and untestead + lagless mame T_T

It sounds like your NVRAM file isn't set right to playback... the choice of BL/WL is set in NVRAM along with the settings, and those need to match to playback properly. I haven't had any problem with playback myself beyond that on Shmupmame 2.2.

I should be able to loop it, but I missed a bee on stage 3 :roll:

Hmm no, the problem with lagless is that it says that the replay it's not valid as an input file, with normal mame the game starts as a vanilla game.

What do I have to do to modify the nvram so that the replay che be played as a BL game?

I am sorry that we disagree, jpj. Like I said, I don't believe discussing in a strategy thread is a good substitute for discussion in the high score thread, because the topic of a strategy thread is too narrow (we are not and won't be discussing strategy only), and because much fewer players will take part in the discussion.

Anyway, my proposal to help you with updating still stands. I could, for instance, send you a PM every two weeks or so with a list of the scores to add, which I feel would solve the problem for everyone.

I think that the discussion here is within reason in regard to the topic. I appreciate jpj's dilemma with regard to emails, but scoreboards rarely see nothing but score posts. Congratulations, requests for replays, and light strategy discussion are to be expected (I also agree that they add a great deal to the experience of playing collectively with a high score board as a focal point).

If you do want to dig deep into strategy or emulation details, jpj is right, and you should take it to a more relevant place. However, jpj, I'm afraid we can't blanket ban so people can only add scores and nothing else. If I'm honest, I think part of maintaining a high score board beyond doing regular updates is to play host to enthusiasm for playing the game; enthusiasm that sometimes reveals itself in discussion posts like the ones above.

That section after 1up cannon with parallel platforms, any tip for this section?
This part seems very randon, while I can know where the ships enemies will come can't do the same with the parallel platforms.

Well done Third_Strike ! Why don't you record your scoring runs ? So far I can't seem to be able to watch them anyway though.

I'll come after you when I have time and MAME works again on my computer !

Why don't you record your scoring runs ?
Men I try I really try, but I am very inconsistent. I fail like 99% of time and this can happen in each single place of game. Is impossible try record a inp in this conditions. Later even yesterday I am losing one life in each boss even the first (I even gave up of restart). My performance is like great fail, huge fail, stupid fail, ugly fail, soft fail (this is when I improve my score).
MAME works again on my computer !

This mame is very strange.

You mean you don't usually restart MAME to play another credit, and wouldn't like to have to ?
When I played DoDonPachi, I had to restart MAME and even wait through the "full extent of the jam" text for 30 seconds every try, and I did like 500 tries before I reached my last score, but it was ok. Now in this MAME you can use F10 even while recording so it's very fast to restart. It'd be nice to see your replays and it's also important to have solid proof for the first scores, whoever the player is, I think.

Pressing shift+F3 will restart a recording as well as the game, I hope this makes restart recordings easier for you, third_strike. I'd love to watch your runs. I tried with an ESPGALUDA replay you put up, but it seemed to be broken, because I don't imagine you dying on the first boss+the scoring wasn't very good. :lol:
