Sounds like a cool set-up, though the Jap DC Gigawing is the one game that I've played that does not allow for the ascii pad. Somehow the US version works fine with the ascii pad. :?

Yeah, I play my DC games through Scart-RGB, unfortunately Gigawing is one of a few games published by Capcom that incomprehensibly have RGB output blocked (some retarded anti-import measure for sure). Add to that the horrific upscaled interlaced display.
I really can't play Gigawing for more than 10 minutes like this. Aaaargh, my eyeeeeehhzzz!!! >____<

Really, I need the CPS2 board, but then again I don't like the game that much. ;)

Alright so I tried the game again, mindful of the 1 lifing = high score advice. So I 1 lifed to the ST6 Boss, where I lost a stupid life , then went on to the ALL and still scored only 26....?
I always score within the 25-30 range, no matter what I do...

At least my prediction of not being able to score on the GWs was right

Anyway, congrats Javel & Sik

Yeah, Im done too.

As much as I love this game, and as much as the scoring system is neat.... at least in concept..... actually PLAYING for score is just damn annoying.

I absolutely hate using Ruby or Stuck (Stuck's weapon is STUPID, and Ruby moves too fast, no option to hold a button and slow down in Giga Wing), boss milking is STILL one of the most annoying concepts in gaming (I cant even WATCH it without getting bored), and some of the tactics necessary to get a good score (like the crap with the stupid train), are just too dang obnoxious for my patience.

That, and playing for score basically requires a great many restarts, and the first stage is always MONUMENTALLY boring in this game. It's like, come on, SHOOT at me already, give me some excitement here..... I lack the patience to do that.

That, and I FINALLY got Giga Wing Generations working 2 nights ago, so I havent been doing much else except play that (I really fail to see what the problem is with that game, *I* think it's great).

Though, the final straw for this was when that GODFORSAKEN PIECE OF CRAP 360 controller decided AGAIN to ignore my button presses, at the end of stage 5 no less, and instead of shielding, did absolutely nothing, and everything went totally downhill from there (cause I lost ALL of my collected bombs there). That happened about 8 minutes ago, and it's like, that's it, Im done. I really need to A: replace it, B: run it over with the car.

At least I can play Generations with the PS2 controller.

Sorry for the mini-ramble, but Im a tad annoyed at the moment, and I dont have anything nearby to smack the hell outta that controller with.....

On another note though, the last score I DID get was:

Bridget - 10,5849,3938,5840 - Isha - Stage 6

A hideous score, even for me when Im not trying for score, but there it is, at least I posted SOMETHING.

And now, back to Generations.

Zinger: I don't think you have an ALL stage 5 :P

Updating my spreadsheet right now. I'll post an updated score table if people want to see it.

Try getting as many medals and reflect medals as possible.

Multiplier exponential off "chain".
Score exponential off multiplier.

Death breaks stage chain.

well I played a bit more…

Sonic R - Great Lakes Avengers - 2,1549,43523260 - Stage 4 - Isha - Dreamcast

I enjoy playing Giga Wing but when playing for score, it is not fun. Sorry

In closing, I am glad the STGT is over. Playing for scores really turned me off of these games. I have played more Xbox 360 this past month than I have all year

I hate this fucking game.
All week, and only one decent run to show for it.
Don't think I've done too badly though, given that I only started playing this on Monday.

No bombs left for st5 and st6 EOS Bonus, otherwise could have been higher.
Stage 7 boss final form (the screenspamming one).
Medal count up over 21mil.
A few more hours to go.

Hmm, mixed emotions. On one hand, after failing yesterday and so far today, I was beginning to think maybe I just wasn't going to be able to improve my score in time. On the other hand...

Image

ARGH I WAS PROBABLY A SPLIT SECOND AWAY FROM THE ALL CLEAR

I think I'll try to improve this tonight, but knowing me, I'll probably just give up at the first sign of resistance.
