been playing the piss out of this all weekend, like all other psikyo games it starts out pretty nice but the jazz quickly wears off
anyways no 1cc altho i mouthed off at the beginning of the week actually only reached 1-7 once and havent been close since, making a badass score on the first 4 stages tho.. 700K pretty consistent
sven666 - Team Sweden - 1001000 - 1-7 - Ian (PCB)
i cant believe so many play with quaid he's much to slow for scoring imo...

the destruction of everything, is the beginning of something new. your whole world is on fire, and soon, you'll be too..
im a raizing guy remember, i like the bareley controlleable fast ships hehe..Rob wrote: Ian's sprite is a little hard to see at times and I don't like the bomb. Quaid's fast enough.
nice competition game tho, every play lasts about 6-7minutes and restarting is quick as hell
ed: wheres DEL's score btw?

Very true. But I had a game where I finally broke 700k on 1-4 with Ian. I've never done that before. However, with his speed I tend to run into more bullets.Icarus wrote:Three words.sven666 wrote:i cant believe so many play with quaid he's much to slow for scoring imo...
Screen. Clearing. Bomb.
^_-
And 1-6 was a joke. I ran into trouble and had to bomb, so I sat right in the center of the bomb-line and as soon as it wore off I was dead before the rest of the bullets were still streaming at me. Tough but fun.
SiKrAiKeN: While I don't think everyone here -is- a Ninja Turtle, I DO believe everyone here has the potential to be a Ninja Turtle. No doubt.

Totally frustrating game. Getting killed by hidden bullets is not my idea of fun. I hope I never play this game again as long as I live. The random stages completely pisses me off. I put a lot of effort in and got nowt back.
I HATE THIS GAME
Leeram - Underdogs - 460,700 - 1-4 - Quaid - Mame

Concerning Ian vs. Quaid, I expect the world record is held by someone playing Ian. Ian is better for scoring; Quaid is better for surviving. Of course, surviving is good for scoring, especially in a competition involving a time-limit. But I think you know what I mean.
Quaid is better for surviving for two reasons (both mentioned above): bullet-clearing bombs and more steady movement. Ian's bomb, if aimed at a boss, is more powerful, so it can be useful for getting through a tough boss stage. But you can usually make up for the difference with Quaid by coupling the bomb with a couple of dragonshots.
EDIT: In order to be a better husband, I had to skip playing this weekend. I'm ok with my score, though.

| CYS-SAK | QUAID | 4.153.000 |

Ian has great movement and dragon recall speed, but has the worst bomb defense of any character in any game I've ever played.
