How much time we still have left?

I had to reinstall Windows on my system, so I wasted a lot of time this day. I have a few free hours today, I want to play the game, but I want to know how much free time I have.

Set board clock to GMT, time is in the first post of this thread. About 16 hours, I think.

Ye gods. What a crappy game, with a crappy score to go with it, and I don't give a damn about improving it. My only consolation is that the game, seeing how it won the poll this year, is banned from appearing in next year's tournament.

It must be...right? Please?
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

Managed to put some hours in today but not many. Hopefully I'll have more time for the next game as I don't have any trips away in my work diary acheduled...yet!

Leeram - Underdogs - 342,100 - Stage 6 - Mame

I'm pretty sure I could get a bit higher than this as I don't know the bonuses yet, but to be honest I don't think I want to. It's not a terrible game but I find it a bit dull to be honest.

Cheers

I tried posting earlier but the forum wouldn't respond.

Acid King - Drink & Fly - 395,600 - area 6

This game can burn in hell along with my non autofire MAME.
Feedback will set you free.

This is the part where i'm supposed to say something like "I gotta climb the charts" with some emote evil smiley things indicating I mean business...because I started learning a game I've never played before at zero hour....again. But ya know what? I can't stand playing this anymore. I think I'd shave years off my lifespan through a self-induced coma if I saw the junkslut egyptian head coast off the screen again.

At least I didn't have to mash the keyboard frantically to find the pause button for the fortune proof this time.

Now I'm going to do some homework now. Because...for the life of me I can't pass stage 13. Having Kill Bill run in the background magically increases score...but I can't pass goddamn 13.....goddammit...

ugh... it's martini time.

Acid King, thanks for givin' it another go.

Thank God the games of today are more refined in terms of design and programming. This game seems to be full of those kinds of bullets that fly faster if they are fired at a certain angle. >_<#

I think I'd end up breaking something if I got killed by a magically accellerating bullet in a modern game.

Yeah, I had a good run end from one of those angled bullets, I started moving upwards to kill the boss, and it fired a bullet that couldn't be dodged..

I have so much respect for people who have made good scores on this, the annoyances in the game has made me never want to play it again..

I found the game a little cheap, but basically enjoyable. Much more fun than Blazing Star, but then again, so's an appendectomy. Spongy keyboard and no autofire sucked for me, but that's not the game's fault.

BulletMagnet - Team loser - 551,400 - 9

Had a good run, made it to the half-mil extend and had 3-4 lives left, and was immediately thereafter mercilessly slaughtered in a(nother) rapid series of cheesy unavoidable deaths.

Methinks it's safe to say I'm officially finished with this thing, especially without autofire. Not the worst game I've ever played, but long past its expiration date.

I surely am a weird guy or something. I enjoy this game. I mean, yeah, it has two serious flaws: Point blank shooting and enemies shooting a moment before leaving the screen.

But the game keeps shooting at you at a crazy rate, and you need some CRAZY dodging skills at some areas. You have a big hitbox, and you need to squeeze between bullets with crazy skill, and it's all twitch dodging, there's no memorizing anywhere. There are moments where I celebrate when I manage to squeeze my ship between a dozen of bullets coming from everywhere.

And I see most people complaining how "boring" the game is. Why?

I think I like the simple things....

Oh yeah, and auto-fire makes the game more enjoyable :)

You are aware of the restriction on autofire, right?

Regardless, another amazing score for a week of play. And the game's boring because it's crap, duh.

Thanks for all the comments guys

One final try. I'm officially done for retro week. My hands are killing me, and I REALLY don't want to play this game again for a good while. It's a fun, simple shmup, but considering how many times I've played it over the last seven days...

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go pick up where I left off last weekend in Shining Tears... and take some aspirin.

Here's hoping this score holds up :)

Not likely. The game is already in the Recycle Bin.
I wouldn't play this game for that long anyway. I'd end up putting my fist through the monitor in irritation, thats how much I loathe the game now.

And its a rare for a game to make me want to do that.
