For me Ketsui loop 1 had the most perfect difficulty of any game I've ever played but the last half of stage 5 is a brutality. Obviously that all gets easier with practice but I wouldn't call it trivial. In SDOJ the brutality starts with the stage 4 midboss though that midboss is not hard for long if you plan out a hyper in stock and watch some replays. But like I've said before, getting to stage 4 quickly is fooling yourself. You say to yourself I'm already at stage 4 etc. No. You will probably be stuck there for a while unless you are using save states to practice just those late parts over and over and progress will likely come more slowly than it did in previous Cave games, which gets pretty frustrating and will trigger The Plankoning. But if you abuse practice states or whatever who knows.

I'm not overestimating anything. If you find the difficulty in Ketsui stages to be 'trivial' then I'm happy for you

Although I never had trouble with stage 2 Maniac boss in Futari so there you go.

Did this happen to anyone else?

I ordered the SLE and paid for it, (From NCSX) yet I was shipped th normal LE... unfortunately their offices are closed for the rest of the day... this... kinda sucks :(

My heart sunk a little when I saw a normal sized package at my front door. The invoice they printed off even claims this is the LE, but when I check my order online, it says it's the Ultra Kan (SLE) edition. Bummer.

I ordered the SLE from them and got it on Monday, so my order went through okay...give them a call tomorrow and see if you can sort it out.

Yeah that's what I'm going to do...my only fear is them not being able to replace my LE with a SLE due to low stock... but that hopefully won't be an issue.

Stage 5 boss can get fucked. That opening volley is a demoralizing nightmare even at low rank (Challenge #25).

The problem is that supplies of the SLE have tightened, so the wholesale price has gone up a lot. That's NCS's issue now..

I had this problem too, but if you turn music and sound up to 100 and turn voices down to 40 or so, you'll start to hear them

Use the coins you earned in your gameplay to buy the options.

I have coins, but where do I use them? I don't see anything like "use coins" or "buy."

Go back to the main menu and choose shop.

Did you originally order the LE, but switch when they had more of the fancier ones available? That's what I did.

Apparently, they submitted a request for more money to PayPal, but I never saw it. So instead of calling or anything, they went back to the LE.

Disappointing. I just decided to keep the extra $50 and not have to wait yet another week.

Something I just noticed: What's with the creepy voice whenever Saya uses a manual bomb? It overlaps with her normal voice, so is that supposed to be the pilot?

I think it's her teddy bear or the bunny that's making the sound.

Just gave it my first couple credits, ArcadeHD mode - I love it! I know what people are talking about regarding the visuals being a bit much at first, I was slightly disoriented with where my ship was vertically. I think it'll take time getting used to. Enjoyed the music more than I expected.
Got my ass handed to me by stage 3 boss, using type C-S AB-ON.
I don't mind the menus, all I need to do now that the settings are all configured is start game.
Going to try the 360 mode in a few minutes. This weekend I'll toss the game in a cab, for now this'll do.

Yes, that is exactly what I did... However, I received the PayPal Invoice for the extra 50ish or whatever it was and I paid it that day. When I logged on to their website to check my order status after the payment cleared, my order was indeed switched to the SLE... When I received tracking information and confirmation emails when the game shipped, it was listed as the Ultra Kan (SLE)... lol. I'm going to call them in a few to see what can be worked out. I just hope I don't have to pay MORE shipping :/.

EDIT: Ok... So just to update and in case anyone else might be wondering; NCS is going to ship the ultra LE when their restock arrives next Monday. Then UPS will pick up the Normal LE when they drop the SLE off. I'm glad they were able to work it out for me... Just have to wait yet ANOTHER week and a half just to play lol. Ah well.

It's been confirmed that the voices are way too loud in the port compared to the pcb. What do I set the Music, sfx and voices to, to get as close to the pcb sounds?

I gotta say, I'm sure the game is great but the production of the port... It's just one thing after another. Fudged menus, broken leaderboards, unbalanced default sound, crappy aspect ratio for tate 4:3, additional slowdown and NO LEADERBOARD SCORING IF YOU SWITCH THE OVERFLOW BUG OFF?!

wtf?

In Pink Sweets they removed the infinite lives trick even though you need to be godlike to trigger it. For SDOJ they leave the bug in for posterity: something you don't need to be quite as godlike to perform, effectively nullifying scoring in the first four stages. They're smart enough to offer you to switch it off - but shouldn't that be the default? If they removed the bug from PS surely it makes sense to have a fixed SDOJ as standard. If you want to compete with arcade scpres directly, switch the bug on.

But disallowing leaderboard scoring for the fixed version of the game? Are they all on drugs or what. I can't fathom such a dimwitted move, scuppering an opportunity to rectify your work so it can be played as it was meant to be by a majority audience.

I really dislike the whole patch culture too. I want my games to be complete on-disc ffs.

I won't claim that they're "exact PCB" levels, but I use 80/70/45 (music/sfx/voice) and it seems somewhat close.

Yeah, while I haven't yet played the game. And I'm sure the game itself is very good, all these issues sound like they really detract from the experience. I mean they already had a good menu system established with Mushihime-sama HD so why change to the much hated mmp/ps system? Only cave knows.

I personally think that they should have removed infinite lives glitch/multiply mode from Pink Sweets but why not just remove the glitch completely from Saidaioujou? If you can't upload scores to the leaderboards once you've disabled the bug, why allow you to disable it in the first place?

Didn't they fix the mushihime-sama 1.5 bug with the counterstop in the port? Why is this any different?

Re: Kai. Yeah you just have to understand what is happening in the core of the game/parameters/etc. But before that was figured out it was thought that you did need to be godlike with it. The guides prior to mine were based around raising the rank to the most ridiculous levels possible.

The Pink Sweets trick was removed in a version of the pcb anyway fwiw. Whoever ported it might have just used that/those version(s) and not put any thought into the trick.

Agreed about wanting everything correct without downloading patches. The laziness that patches allow is ugly. That fee that was mentioned, if it's real, is good for deterring multiple patches (getting charged for multiple patches) but having the first one free is a free ticket to free bugtesting and laziness. They should add a fee even for the first.

I wouldn't mind reading a guide on how to trigger this score bug on SDOJ, though I have to doubt 99% of players could pull it off.

I'm not sure but I think that one maxed a score out and this one doesn't. As in you could perform/take better advantage of the SDOJ glitch and end with a higher score than the competition, where in the Mushi one everyone ended with the same score. Not sure. But that does make it different enough.

To be honest, I can sympathise totally with the outrage (at first I was like: "woah, wait a second..." because I didn't realise there was no scoreboard for non-fucked-up-scoring till, well, just now), but then I thought about it a bit more, and, as long as we're saying that the overflow trick is only really accessible to the gods, then it don't really matter much to me.

I mean, I've gone from seeing a leaderboard where the top 20 scores are high and unattainable... to a leaderboard where the top 20 scores are ridiculous and unattainable. I'm still hovering around the same place I would be on the leaderboards. If anything, it only really fucks up the gods - not the likes of me - as for them it reduces the game to a race to who can trigger it first.

I mean, it's shit, yes, and I'd rather not, but I'll still probably play with the bug switched on. I'm still going to get the same game, for my level.

Having said all that, it's pretty much total retard that they didn't include a leaderboard with it switched off - but then, why am I not in any way remotely fucking surprised about that?
