Doesn't sound PCB-ish to me.
And so DS nears Neo-Geo levels of money spent on a new console release.
LE from NCSX: $117.78
MBL DLC: 1,400 ms points (about $20 after importing a jp points card)
MBL 1.1: ?
So far though it's been worth it. DS is easly my most-played game so far this year (though I could have lived without that soundtrack in hindsight). I'll be there with points in hand when this drops.
I dunno, I prefer 1.1 overall. MBL is neat but there's a few things they removed that I can't cheese through now, like the Forest boss. Seriously fuck that thing.
But really I just like lots of flashy skulls and shit dropping everywhere.
Asada did Death Smiles, so we can't automatically assume that the newer cave ports will have arrange modes. Chances are they will, but since it's not Asada, who knows how they'll turn out.
Apologise if this has already cropped-up, but I notice that you can purchase the MBL from within the game without having to navigate to the Japanese Marketplace. If I'm playing the game using a non-Japanese gamertag can I just add points using my credit card and buy the MBL through the game or does it all need to be done using a Japanese account?

It can only be purchased with a Japanese account that has Japanese points on it.

Uhh.. it still has to connect to the marketplace where the content is stored.

Hey Elixir,
Am I right that you're talking about the teams handling the porting?

Yeah, thanks for that Sherlock. Nobody said it didn't.
Is there a list somewhere with descriptions of all the DLC and instructions on how to navigate to it? It's not always easy to find stuff on the Japanese Marketplace.
bcass wrote:Yeah, thanks for that Sherlock. Nobody said it didn't.
No, you don't get it. It still has to connect to the marketplace to download the content, and if you're using a non-JP account it will attempt to download it off whatever marketplace the account used is on. This should be self-explanatory, but oh well.

You seem to be having an argument with yourself. Nobody said anything contrary to what you are stating. A question was asked, by me, without making a statement, then Kiken answered the question.

So what you're saying is that you thought in-game content was different to Japanese marketplace content? And that it might be possible to access non-existent Japanese content on the American marketplace by using an American account with a Japanese game? Well, now you know. Logic dictates that, if US accounts have US marketplaces, and you try downloading something foreign with them, it won't work.
That's lovelly Elixir, and fits-in nicely with the argument you're still having with yourself, except I don't live in the US and I'm not using a US gamertag/account
It doesn't matter where you live, unless it's Japan, which it isn't. You pretty much avoided my post entirely though, good work. Please continue to be wrong.
Listen pal, I really don't know what your problem is, but I never made any statements, I asked a question, which was kindly answered by Kiken before you decided to butt-in with some trolling.
Please, go and be retarded somewhere else, or if you want to make this personal, take it to PM, eitherway, please spare us what appears to be a classic example of gamer-OCD.
I have another question: is there only a 'Todays' scoreboard on all the versions? Is it only when playing the Score Attack that your scores are saved permanantly? Also, what does EX On/Off mean on the Leaderboards filter?

Scores are saved. Press the A button (I think) to switch between Today's and All Time rankings.
EX On/Off is for dividing scores where the person went to the EX Stage (Canyon, or Canyon and/or Ice Palace in MBL) or just went straight to the Castle after the first 6 stages.
I'm curious what everybody thinks about MBL. Is it worth the download. I do understand that the board goes for huge money, so in that sense, yes it's worth it.
But from people who have played it, what does everybody think?
It's not exactly cheap for what amounts to little more than a tweaked game mode. The 1.1 mode (that you get with the game) seems like a more interesting and varied mode than what you get in the MBL DLC.
Yeah, the MBL is just tweaked, but comes with a new character and two extra stages. The 1.1 version is definitely the best version of this game with interesting mechanics(right stick controls the option etc.). The only thing it's missing is Sakura and the Ice Palace(which is better than the Canyon stage that 1.1 has). Perhaps MBL 1.1 will be the 'ultimate' version of this game?
MBL has a lot more changes/features than 1.1, though I have to admit I'm really really fond of option control.
I've been playing MBL a lot and I really like the Ice Palace and Sakura. 999 is a bit out of my league at the moment, but certain stages seem reasonably doable with some practice when I get to that point.
Thanks for the input so far. I guess one way to think about it is: If you really like the game, this will give it some more mileage. I just wish it was in disc form.
I wouldn't mind having another board to play. Like other people have said, too bad you can't play the ice palace in version 1.1. That would be nice.
I have a question about MBL. When you choose a character, you have two choices, which i'm guessing affect your character's weapons. What do they say(they're in Japanese).
They actually ask if you want to view the tutorial before the game. I think it's kind of silly considering you can skip through them if you actually hit yes.
