They originally planned to release the patch in January but had a problem processing the request with Microsoft. They're asking us to wait (still) and they're sorry for the delay.

Really not sure why everyone is waiting with bated breath for this patch. It's not going to make the whole thing magically not suck. I'm not sure it will even fix issues like the menu button layout being retarded, and the training mode being near useless due to no weapon/rank control (PS2's simulation mode makes it look like shit even if it did have these things)

Ceph doesn't seem to be interested in coming around here any more. It'd be nice to stop having threads that have the bad combination of having an outdated OP and being too large to search quickly, so they end up going in circles. The 22nd of April gets "announced" through Amazon, people discuss it, it gets denied by Mihara, it gets discussed, than someone pops up "HEY GUYS I KNOW THE RELEASE DATE!!1111"... it's just annoying.
Bringing in "new" info that is already known to be false is just not adding to the conversation.
And telling people you preordered X for Y $ and it just crossed the border of country Z is not helpful for anyone either.

I wish there weren't such a high restriction policies over LIVE. I am sure that the update is so big that maybe Microsoft is intending to charge a few bucks for it. Everything is speculation of sure, but since a lot of companies recently have said that some of their DLC content was suposed to be free, but M$ forced them to charge fo it, and such a delay (I think it is the second one) something starts to smell fishy.

Also I wish 5ppb updates the status of the release date for Ketsui. I am tired of those dates denied by Mihara. I want a real one and pray for a decent port.

Ummm...what exactly is wrong with keeping unstable code off the network? Mihara himself basically said "we'll see if it flies" and admitted the code was not as stable as he would like when the patch for BLEX was submitted. I, for one, am also glad that Ketsui has been delayed again. People always complain about delays, but would they rather be playing a really shitty port?

Microsoft does not charge for title updates and suspecting anything of the sort is just paranoia. If this was DLC then your suspicions would be valid, but you will not be asked to pay for updates. Hell just look at Burnout Paradise.

Most likely what has happened is 5PB submitted their patch for certification and it has failed. Given the amount of code they've had to rewrite, it's completely reasonable. I mean they did plagiarize a lot of it.

Though the game will not make it April 22 (most likely), I went ahead and put the preorder in since the LE is back down to a reasonable 109.90 at NCSX.
